Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

Saudi Arabia Once More Delays Plans to Sell Part of Its Oil Company

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, March 20, 2018:

The chairman of Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s privately held oil producer, told avid listeners in Davos, Switzerland, in January that “we hope that 2018 will be the right time [to list shares of the company for sale], but ultimately we have to make sure the market is ready.”

There is increasing evidence that the market might never be ready.

When Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced his plans in January 2016 for moving his country’s economy away from its dependence on oil (called Vision 2030), he guessed he could raise $100 billion from the sale of part of Aramco to help with the transition. He also felt that the sale of just five percent of the company would do the job nicely. In addition he thought that those shares might be offered as soon as 2017.

The year 2017 came and went, and Saudi Arabia’s oil minister Khalid Al-Falih said last week that the new deadline for the listing — in late 2018 — was now “artificial,” adding that the next target date is April 2019.

There are so many challenges facing the elites in Saudi Arabia that the deal might never take place.

Hey, Prince! How Does it Feel to Have the Crude Oil Shoe on the Other Foot?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, March 21, 2018:

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is about to enjoy learning what the Old Testament teaches about the sins of his father:

The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.

In the 1970s, many of us still remember the pain and suffering that Saudi Arabia’s kings inflicted on the United States and its citizenry in retaliation for U.S. support of Israel: long lines at gas stations, alternate days to fill up, double nickel highway speeds, daylight “savings” time, and other punishments.

The prince, born in 1985, won’t remember those days, but his father, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, most certainly does. And during his two-week sales tour of the United States, the prince is going to learn about justice delayed. He now needs the help of the United States to keep his sand castle from falling into the sea or disappearing into the Arabian desert.

Specifically, the prince has a dream – Vision 2030 – but

Pilots Are Armed, Why Not Teachers?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, February 26, 2018:

Chad Robichaux, a former special agent with the U.S. Federal Air Marshall Service, has been here before. Objections to arming pilots following the Islamic terror attacks on September 11, 2001 were the same as those being raised against arming teachers. Said Robichaux on Breitbart News Tonight last Thursday: “Well, you trust them [pilots] flying your airplane. So now people are saying, ‘We can’t trust teachers with firearms.’ We trust them with our children!”

Robichaux worked with the Federal Air Marshall Service in developing and implementing the pilot training program launched following the 9/11 attacks and said that the present hostility toward arming teachers is the same that was voiced against the arming of pilots.

Prior to 9/11, airplanes were in essence “gun free” zones, an inviting target for terrorists:

Dakota Access Pipeline Fulfilling Its Promise

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, January 1, 2018:

Fully operational since June, the Dakota Access Pipeline is lowering transportation costs, reducing tank car usage, reducing environmental and population risk, improving North Dakota’s financial condition, and putting the lie to the alarmist anti-pipeline propaganda.

There’s scarcely a downside.

The structure of a simple guerrilla warfare organization

Hamburg police estimated on Friday that more than 100,000 protesters have descended on their city, a large number of whom have obviously been carefully trained in guerrilla warfare tactics. A cadre of at least 8,000 appear in organized groups, with more than 1,000 of them wearing black uniforms and identical hooded masks and coordinating their actions according to their training. Many of them carry preprinted signs with “Welcome to Hell” on them.

They have, as of this writing, firebombed a police station, torched

Trump Gives “Never, Ever” Speech to NRA National Convention

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, April 28, 2017:

In less than 30 minutes, President Donald Trump hit all the hot buttons, feeding red meat to thousands attending the National Rifle Association’s national convention in Atlanta on Friday.

Trump, the first sitting president to address the NRA convention since President Ronald Reagan in 1983, began by voicing his appreciation to the NRA and its membership for its and their early and generous support of his presidential campaign. The NRA first endorsed Trump for president in March 2016 and subsequently pumped $30 million into his campaign, running four times as many ads in his support than it did for Mitt Romney in 2012.

He reminded his raucous supportive audience of how the national media tried to suppress voter turnout in 2016 by repeatedly stating that

Was the Circuit Court Judge in the Travel Ban Lawsuit “Shopped?”

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, February 6, 2017:

James Robart, Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, may have been pre-selected to rule in lawsuits brought by the state of Washington (later joined by Minnesota) against Trump’s so-called “Muslim ban.” Adam Winkler, a Constitutional scholar at UCLA, explained the concept: “The idea is that you pick a judge that’s friendly, go to court, and stop a big government program before there’s been a trial, or before the judge even has an evidentiary record.”

Consider the evidence.

Trump, Nieto Agree to Dial Down Rhetoric Over Border Wall

Enrique Peña Nieto

The flurry of tweets following President Trump’s signing of the Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements executive order last Wednesday resulted in the Washington Post describing “a deep rift” between the United States and Mexico, and Mexico’s former Foreign Minister Jorge Castañeda labeling the situation a “crisis” that is “going to last a long time.” On Thursday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto (shown) canceled a face-to-face meeting he was to have with President Trump this Tuesday after Trump suggested it would be better to cancel the meeting if Mexico refused to pay for the border wall Trump promised to build.

The tempest died down immediately after President Trump and Mexican President Peña Nieto had a nice long chat by phone on Friday. Following that call — originally scheduled to for 10 minutes but lasting more than an hour — the White House said

Gallup: Assault Weapons Ban Support at Lowest Level Ever Recorded

The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution.

Poll results released on Wednesday by Gallup confirm the trend toward the acceptance of the freedom to own guns and support of the Second Amendment. Sixteen years ago 59 percent of those polled favored “a law which would make it illegal to manufacture, sell or possess semi-automatic guns known as assault rifles,” while just 39 percent were opposed. Today those numbers have flipped: Just 36 percent support a ban, while 61 percent of those polled oppose it.

Even those polled who don’t have a gun in their home oppose such a ban. Most surprisingly, however, is that support for such a ban has dropped even among those most likely to support one:

A Luger P08 pistol with long barrel and snail magazine. Taken at the National Firearms Museum.

“If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth” is attributed to Joseph Goebbels. Whether the mainstream media intends it or not, it certainly has an estimate of how many guns are owned by Americans:

Time magazine:  270 to 310 million,

National Public Radio: More than 300 million,

Washington Post:  357 million,

New York Times: 280 to 320 million, and so on.

This so annoyed the blogger at WeaponsMan, a former Special Forces soldier, that he invested hours in his search for the truth. He found it by

East Coast Bomber’s Father Warned Police About His Son in 2014

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, September 20, 2016:

In 2014, the East Coast bomber’s father told FBI agents that his son was a terrorist. The father, Mohammad Rahami, told the New York Times:

Two years ago I go to the FBI because my son [Ahmad Khan Rahami, shown] was doing really bad, O.K.? But they check almost two months [and] they say: “He’s O.K., he’s clean, he’s not a terrorist.”

I say O.K.

It’s not OK.

Progressive Democrats Shut Down House Over Gun Control Demands

Official Congressional portrait of Congressman John Lewis.

Seeing an opportunity that couldn’t be wasted, Representative John Lewis (D-Ga.) led a Progressive sit-in that brought to a halt the proceedings of the House of Representatives this week.

Lewis, a longtime radical revolutionary with Communist Party affiliations, led the sit-in, blaming it on Republicans’ unwillingness to bring to the floor a vote on expanding background checks and adding suspected terrorists to a “no fly/no-buy” watchlist. The sit-in began at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and, at its peak, numbered nearly 170 House Democrats (along with several Democrat senators) before it petered out around 3 a.m. today (Thursday).

Some called it grandstanding while others called it

Gun Sales Set Records, Likely to Continue

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, May 6, 2016:

According to the FBI, more than two million gun-purchase background checks were conducted in April, 400,000 more than in April a year ago. In fact, every month since last May, background checks have set new records, putting 2016 on track to beat 2015 for the number of checks conducted by the National Instate Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

In its report the FBI noted that there is no direct one-to-one correlation between background checks and gun sales, but it’s close. Especially if one tracks the performance of stocks of Sturm Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson in the last 12 months.

Obama and the New York Times Work to Increase Crime in the United States

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, December 7, 2015:

Mark Perry of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) reviewed the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and discovered that, contrary to views perpetrated by the likes of President Obama and the New York Times, gun violence in the United States is continuing to decline sharply as gun ownership increases. In 1993 there were seven firearm-related homicides for every 100,000 Americans, but by 2013 that had fallen by 50 percent,

Detroit Police Chief: Terrorists Want Unarmed Citizens

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, December 4, 2015:

Following the Paris attacks, Detroit police chief James Craig (shown above) reiterated his policy of encouraging his citizens to continue to arm themselves:

A lot of Detroiters have CPLs (concealed pistol licenses), and the same rules apply to terrorists as they do to some gun-toting thug: if you’re a terrorist, or a carjacker, you want unarmed citizens.

Since his arrival in Detroit in 2012, Craig has seen his citizens heed his call and has simultaneously seen violent crime fall significantly. Seven thousand of them received their CPLs the year after Craig took over, and another 7,500 were added to the rolls a year later. At present nearly one in every 20 Detroiters is carrying concealed.

Added Craig:

A Primer on the Kalashnikov AK-47 that killed or wounded 500 in Paris

More than 100 million Kalashnikov AK-47 fully automatic rifles are carried by military services, and extremist militants, in 106 countries around the world, because of their durability, low cost to produce, and ease of use. For Russia it is the single most profitable weapon in its arsenal, available on Europe’s black market for between $325 and $750. An upgrade is now available, bringing the price ever lower on older models.

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the The New American. On such an occasion, it is appropriate to reflect on the magazine’s track record, from the accuracy of our facts and the soundness of our analysis to the stories we unearthed and the influence we’ve exerted.

We are proud of our track record. But there is one recurring theme that seems to be particularly striking when reviewing the articles we’ve published, and that is the extent to which we have accurately projected the lines
