Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

Chicago Crime Wave: More People Killed on Christmas Than Past Three Christmases Combined

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, December 27, 2016:

A total of 61 people were shot in Chicago over the Christmas holiday weekend, with 11 of them dying from their wounds. Seven were murdered on Christmas Day alone, more than the last three Christmases combined.

This brings the grisly total to more than 4,252 people shot so far this year in Chicago, 770 of them fatally. Last year by comparison there were 2,989 people shot with 492 of them succumbing to their wounds. That’s an astonishing 56 percent increase in homicides in one year — and the year is not quite over yet.

The New American has been tracking the Windy City’s violence, suggesting back in April that,

Banks, Credit Card Companies Attack Second Amendment

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, April 30, 2018:

When the Bank of America (BofA) and Citigroup announced changes in their policies earlier this month restricting loans to companies that sell or manufacture firearms, Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, sent a letter to the CEO of each bank:

Donald Trump, Meet Randolph Bourne

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, April 16, 2018:

The Founding Fathers, through their study of history, personal experience, and the Holy Scriptures, knew the nature of man. Accordingly, they did everything they could think of to, as Jefferson put it, “bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” Jesus asked, “Whoever is without sin, throw the first stone.” The Apostle Paul said, “All of have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” adding “There is no one righteous, no, not one.”

George Washington put it this way: “Government is not reason. It is not eloquence. It is force. Like fire, it is both a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

But President Donald Trump, although he may be generally aware of the Founders’ distrust of man, is not likely to know anything about Randolph Bourne. That’s unfortunate because what Bourne wrote back in 1918 would certainly be helpful right about now.  Titled “War is the Health of the State,” Bourne explained:

Trump’s Attack on Syria vs. the (Ignored) Constitution

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Sunday, April 15, 2018:

While the U.S. attack against Syria was underway, President Donald Trump told the nation Friday night: “A short time ago, I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapons capabilities of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now under way. We thank them both…. Last Saturday [April 7], the Assad regime again deployed chemical weapons to slaughter innocent civilians, this time in the town of Douma near the Syrian capital of Damascus. This massacre was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons used by that very terrible regime..”

This was a far cry from the Donald Trump before he became president. Here are just three of his tweets BP (before becoming president):

Christ’s Resurrection: The Historical Record

Jesus rose from the dead. That is certainly the primary belief that propelled the spread of the Christian faith across the Roman Empire, inspiring thousands who persisted in that belief in the face of either a martyr’s death or loss of fortune or even family. Had these early Christians not believed in the resurrection of Jesus, it is almost certain that Christianity would not exist today, because it would never have existed at all.

So, why did the early disciples of Jesus Christ believe in His resurrection? Is the resurrection of Jesus historical?

When historians attempt to determine what happened in the ancient world, they must rely on what we call legal-historical proof. In the study of history and in the courtroom, we examine evidence and draw conclusions. While we can no longer cross-examine the eye witnesses who assert they saw the resurrected Christ, we can look at the character of those witnesses. Based upon the evidence that is available, we can certainly draw some reasonable conclusions.

In First Corinthians chapter 15, verses 3-7, the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth what was apparently an early creed, or statement of belief, on this very subject.

The Minority Report is Now a Reality

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, March 12, 2018:

Cover of "Minority Report [Blu-ray]"

Cover of Minority Report DVD

Movie buffs will remember the 2002 science fiction film Minority Report based on a short story written by Philip Dick. Set in 2054 in Washington, D.C., a division of the local police department called PreCrime would arrest individuals based on crimes that they were going to commit. The precriminals were targeted by three psychics called “precogs.”

That “PreCrime” unit is now called the Crisis Response Squad, is part of the Seattle Police Department, and is now arresting precriminals based on testimonies from family members, friends, former wives or husbands, and even former roommates. This isn’t 2054, but 2018.

Here’s this from Seattle.gov, dated March 2, 2018:

Sorry, Inflation Worries are Not Behind the Selloff in Stocks

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, February 7, 2018:

All manner of explanations for the recent market selloff in stocks have come out of the woodwork: the market has gotten ahead of itself; it was due for a correction anyway; it’s been 400 days since a three percent correction; and so on. The least informed is that all of a sudden there is inflation! See? The yield on the 10-year Treasury is up 80 basis points since September! That must mean there’s inflation! Couple that with the “surge” in wages just reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2.9 percent year-over-year compared to 2.2 percent reported previously) and – voila! – inflation is back. Time to take profits!

Most commentators didn’t bother to check with the Fed, specifically the Cleveland Fed and the St. Louis Fed, which report the real numbers on inflation and money supply. First:

Venezuela Pushes Presidential Election Forward With Maduro the Only Candidate

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, January 24, 2018:

Venezuela’s Marxist dictator Nicolas Maduro turned Tuesday’s ironic celebration of the end of Venezuela’s dictatorship of Marcos Perez Jimenez 60 years ago into securing the continuation of his own. He told his supporters that if the United Socialist Party, which he controls, wants him to run for reelection, “I’m ready to be a candidate.”

He then turned the celebration into a political rally, declaring once again that the real enemy causing the country’s economic decline into barter and chaos is the president of the United States: “Donald Trump is not the boss of Venezuela!” said Maduro, adding that since they still hold elections in Venezuela (even if they are phony), “The people rule in Venezuela, not empires.” Then, adding irony on top of audacity, Maduro asserted: “I’m ready.… We’re going to win big.”

The only way he’ll “win big” in the elections to be held before the end of April is because

Globalist Insider Peter Sutherland Leaves Interventionist Legacy

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, January 15, 2018:

The death on January 7 of Peter Sutherland, 71, the “father of globalization” (a moniker applied to him by President Clinton’s secretary of commerce) leaves a hole in the broad plan by globalists to use free trade as a cover for the completion of the New World Order to be run by them. Ireland’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar declared that Sutherland was somehow strangely a tripartite loyalist: “an Irishman, a committed European, and a proud internationalist.” Varadkar said nothing about how Sutherland used his divided loyalties to build international trade agreements that led to significant abrogation of Ireland’s national sovereignty.

European Commission (EC) President Jean-Claude Juncker was clearer,

Establishment Insider Calls for Military Intervention in Venezuela

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, January 10, 2018:

English: Ricardo Hausmann

Ricardo Hausmann

When an obscure college professor nearing retirement age suggests that the only way to “solve” the Venezuelan “crisis” is through military intervention, few people would pay any attention. But when that person, Ricardo Hausmann, is a professor at Harvard and a director of the John F. Kennedy School of Government there, his proposal represents much more than just wishful thinking.

Hausmann, with a Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University, is a bona fide Keynesian interventionist. Considering that Hausmann was a former minister of planning in Venezuela and a member of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Venezuela in the early 1990s, one can rest assured that free market principles aren’t being considered as any part of his solution to Venezuela’s problems.

Under socialism, things have gotten so bad in Venezuela that Hausmann now thinks military intervention is the only cure. His plan, “D Day Venezuela,”

Deep State: Pulling Strings From Behind the Scenes, by Alex Newman

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, January 8, 2018. Its author, Alex Newman, will be speaking in Colorado Springs at 21C Library on Wednesday evening, February 7th, on the same topic. If you need a ticket, call me at 481-3890.

Even a mere few years ago, many Americans would have scoffed at the idea of privately organized individuals controlling the levers of government. Now most people see it.

In 1770, William Pitt famously told the U.K. House of Lords that “there is something behind the throne greater than the king himself.” Today, in the face of what appears to be a broad and highly coordinated effort to destroy President Donald Trump, Americans are waking up in huge numbers to the fact that there is a hidden “power behind the throne” in America, too. Trump himself has helped to bring about this awakening. For instance, among other concerns, candidate and later President Trump warned his followers about the “swamp,” about a “cabal” seeking “global government,” and of course, about the “Deep State” seeking to sabotage the United States and especially his America First agenda. This view is now becoming mainstream, the evidence suggests.

In fact, an ABC News/Washington Post poll from April of 2017 shows that

Maduro’s Socialist Paradise Descends Further into Depravity: Citizen Murder

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, December 21, 2017:

Luisa Ortega, once Marxist Nicolas Maduro’s Prosecutor General, was lucky to get out alive. When she protested the country’s Supreme Court’s assumption of powers reserved to the duly-elected National Assembly last summer, that court froze all of her personal assets and barred her from leaving the country. Her replacement, Tarek William Saab, learned she was attempting to flee the country and almost succeeded in stopping her. She and her husband fled from Venezuela by speedboat to Aruba and from there they flew into Columbia.

From there she has been waging a war of exposure of Maduro’s criminal activities and the Wall Street Journal just reviewed her 495-page report of his atrocities.

Head of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Resigns, Giving Trump Chance to Abolish It

Richard Cordray

Richard Cordray, the rogue head of the unaccountable Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), announced on Wednesday that, effective at the end of the month, he would be leaving his post. His term doesn’t run out until July of 2018, but he’s leaving early with no reason being offered. In an internal e-mail he told his 1,623 employees, “I have told the senior leadership … that I expect to step down from my position here before the end of the month.”

The CFPB was created in July 2011 as part of the Dodd-Frank bill that was hastily passed following the real estate crisis of 2007-2008 that led to the Great Recession. It is physically located inside

Trump’s Establishment Pick for Fed Chair, Jerome Powell, Won’t Rock the Boat

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, November 3, 2017:

Nothing will change with Trump’s nomination of Powell to head the Fed. He has a strong establishment background and opposed former Congressman Ron Paul’s effort to “Audit the Fed.”

In announcing his pick to replace Federal Reserve Board chair Janet Yellen, President Trump was generous in his praise for Jerome Powell, a present Fed board member:

Maduro Blocks Opposition, Is Kept in Power by Banks and Marxist Allies

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, October 20, 2017:

Days after the fraudulent election of mayors in Venezuela, Marxist dictator Nicolás Maduro banned the five mayors from the opposition party from taking office. He replaced them with party hacks, all but ending any opposition to his increasingly repressive regime. The election, in which 17 of the 23 mayoral races went to Maduro supporters, was widely criticized for being manipulated in order to give the country’s dictator the win.

Evidence that the election was fraudulent provided by the opposition is being ignored, with the head of Maduro’s National Electoral Council, Tibisay Lucena, calling the elections

What if Your Customer Can’t Buy Your Product, but Wants to?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, October 16, 2017:

There are two basic rules of economics. The first is: if prices go down, more will be demanded. The second is: both sides of any economic transaction must benefit or there’s no deal.

The fracking revolution in the United States has pushed the price of crude oil down to the point where it is threatening the very existence of the OPEC cartel. Consumers are saving at the pump and the energy industry in the U.S. employs more than 10 million people, making up eight percent of the country’s gross domestic product.

But there’s been an all but invisible transformation taking place in natural gas. At least two of the Big Oil companies sell more natural gas than they do crude oil.

EV Revolution to Drive Oil to $10 a Barrel, Says Forecaster

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, October 16, 2017:

Shell Oil Company

Chris Watling, the CEO of Longview Economics, told CNBC on Friday that Saudi Arabia should hasten the sale of part of its Aramco oil company while the price of crude is still high: “I think they need to get it away quick before oil goes to $10 [per barrel].” Added Watling: “We forget, don’t we? 120 years ago the world didn’t live on oil. Oil hasn’t always driven the global economy. The point is, alternative energy in some form is gathering speed.… Things are changing.”

Watling’s views coincide with those of Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) in their just-released 2017 Long Term Electric Vehicle Outlook, which concluded that by 2040

Jury Punishes JPMorgan With $4 Billion in Damages for Mishandling $20 Million Estate

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, September 27, 2017:

English: Category:JPMorgan Chase

Attorneys for the widow and children of Max Hopper, the developer of the SABRE reservation software used by American Airlines, wanted to deliver a message to JPMorgan. On Tuesday they got their wish. Their attorneys announced that not only did the six-member jury award them nearly $5 million in actual damages, plus another $5 million to cover their legal fees for bringing a lawsuit against the bank, the jury doubled what the family wanted in punitive damages. They wanted to make an impression on the bank that would be heard all way from Dallas to 270 Park Avenue, New York City, the bank’s headquarters.

The jurors, apparently so outraged after listening to the bank’s fraudulent, negligent, and malicious behavior toward Hopper’s widow and two children, decided to

The IRS Continues to Hire Repeat Offenders

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, August 23, 2017:

Following its investigation in 2014, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA, shown above) concluded that the IRS was hiring previously employed thugs with known criminal backgrounds, including backgrounds of failing to file or pay their income taxes, falsifying documents, accessing private records of American taxpayers in order to harass them, disruption while at work, and taking time off without permission.

It made various suggestions to the IRS, which were ignored. When an unnamed Senator asked the TIGTA to do an update, the IG found that nothing had changed: thugs were still hiring thugs at the IRS.

From the update released in July:
