Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

A $500,000 Taxpayer-funded Settlement has Finally Awakened State Lawmakers

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, October 6, 2017:

When Washington State lawmakers Matt Manweller and Phil Fortunato learned about what was passing for “education” at taxpayer-funded Evergreen State College (ESC), they started applying the correct remedies: they offered bills to cut its funding and then sell it. Whether such radical ideas will gain traction among their colleagues remains to be seen. In the meantime, delays in doing so are costing Washington taxpayers a pretty penny.

When a liberal college professor not only calls his school radical and then sues it for restitution over its radical policies, one can only assume he is correct. Writing in the Wall Street Journal in May, biology professor Bret Weinstein at ESC, said:

Evergreen State College Settles Lawsuit by Professors for $500,000

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, October 5, 2017:

As a form of retirement package, Evergreen State College settled a lawsuit with two of its professors on the same day that they resigned from the school. Professors Bret Weinstein and his wife, Heather Heying, received $500,000, $450,000 directly to the couple and $50,000 to pay their attorneys’ fees.

Naturally, the college claims that the Weinsteins’ complaints were without merit:

Is North Korea’s Dictator Insane?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, May 17, 2017:

According to Ben Cohen, North Korea’s “Supreme Leader,” Kim Jong-un, is certifiably insane. Wrote Cohen: “Kim [is] executing hundreds of officials he deems to be disloyal in extraordinarily brutal fashion … shocking even hardened North Korean elites used to regular purges, random executions, and extreme torture.”

But how would his paranoia, his megalomania, inform his view of America? Would he be willing to launch an EMP attack using one or both of his satellites currently hovering over the US mainland, knowing that the missiles that would be returned from EMP-hardened missile sites here would obliterate his country, turning everything north of the 38th Parallel into glass?

He certainly has the capability to do so.

Are Concerns Over EMP Attack From North Korea Overblown?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, May 16, 2017:

North Korea and weapons of mass destruction

While the mainstream media is focusing most of its attention on North Korea’s missile tests, it is largely ignoring what some are calling the rogue nation’s real threat: using one or both of its two present satellites hovering over the United States to launch an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack instead.

One of those scoffing at the very idea of EMP attack from North Korea is Jeffrey Lewis, who blogs in favor of nonproliferation at his site “Arms Control Wonk.” On National Public Radio in April, Geoff Brumfiel asked him: “Could North Korea really do this?” Lewis laughed, responding, “This is the favorite nightmare scenario of a small group of very dedicated people.”

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, chief of staff of the Congressional Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, warned on Monday:

Maduro’s Venezuela: Proof that Socialism is a form of Mental Illness

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, February 19, 2016:

Craig Andresen, writing for the National Patriot, described socialism as a mental disorder:

Socialism is a disease. It’s a mental affliction and it causes those infected with it to lose their minds.

It’s also contagious.

Now there’s proof positive:

Venezuelan President Maduro Raises Gas Prices 6,000 percent, Devalues Bolivar

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, February 18, 2016:

During a five-hour TV speech on Wednesday that turned into a harangue against capitalism and President Obama, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro exercised the powers granted to him in January to deal with the country’s economic crisis. He did what most socialists do when their policies don’t work:

Question: What Happens when Socialists and Marxists Are Put in Charge?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, February 5, 2016:

Answer: Venezuela.

The Marxist president (and student of Venezuela’s previous president Hugo Chavez) Nicolas Maduro has just administered the coup d’état: ordering the printing of so many bolivars that his own country’s printing presses could not handle the order. So he went to Germany, France, Canada, and the United Kingdom to place it. The initial supply – five billion of them! – arrived late last year in the holds of 36 Boeing 747 cargo jets, with another

Official portrait of United States Senator (R-OK).

Former Senator Tom Coburn

Before retiring from Congress as Oklahoma’s junior senator, Tom Coburn issued an invitation to others in office to take up where he left off in bringing to light outrageous federal boondoggles. As the editor of Wastebook, Coburn delighted in exposing preposterous examples of government waste, and using them to embarrass the various agencies responsible.

One of those taking up the cudgel is Oklahoma Senator James Langford, who just issued his first edition of Federal Fumbles,

More Keynesian Insanity: Negative Interest Rates

This article first appeared at The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, May 4, 2015:

There’s a corollary to the insanity rule. It’s called the Keynesian Corollary: When something doesn’t work, do more of it. When history is written about the coming Second Great Recession, historians will likely note July 2012 as the turning point. That was when Mario Draghi, head of the European Central Bank (ECB) said during a panel discussion that the ECB “is ready to do whatever it takes to preserve the euro. And believe me, it will be enough.”

Other historians might list that as one of the top ten “famous last words” ever issued by a human being. Since that moment bond yields across the world have dropped, and dropped, and dropped. On Thursday Jeremy Warner, the London Daily Telegraph’s assistant editor, announced that

The Cure for Political Insanity? Vote Them Out

Albert Einstein. the alleged author of the world’s most overused cliche

According to the slick, sophisticated, progressive Salon magazine, the oldest cliché in journalism is Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity. And there’s no proof that Einstein ever said any such thing! But if he had, it would certainly apply to Reps. Steve Israel and Eliot Engel.

Just days after the ATF came to its senses and decided that its proposed ban on “green tip” 5.56 M855 rifle ammunition was just a bridge too far, Israel unleashed a vitriolic barrage at the ATF, calling the decision “cowardly,” “reckless,” and a “cave-in” to the gun lobby. In his attack he dredged up old and long-discredited terms like “cop-killer” bullets and “armor-piercing” ammunition to round out his attack.

Facts don’t matter to Israel. In 38 years the FBI has not

Article in CFR Magazine: Give Away Money to Stimulate Economy

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Bell 206 ...

Mark Blythe, a professor at Brown University, and Eric Lonergan, a hedge fund manager living in London, have conjured the ultimate solution to a stagnant economy: Central banks should give away free money.

These two authors of a lengthy and allegedly erudite article in the September/October 2014 issue of Foreign Affairs, published by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), appear to be living in an alternate universe, as their suggestion, if it were fully implemented, would push the world’s economy back to the Dark Ages.

The article, entitled “Print Less but Transfer More: Why Central Banks Should Give Money Directly to the People,” rests on the false assumption that

King Canute appears to have been reincarnated in the body of Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy. On Thursday, the governor announced, with great fanfare, that by raising the state’s minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, he will be simultaneously raising people out of poverty, restoring business confidence, and bringing days of wine and roses back to the Nutmeg State:
