Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

Atheist Stephen Hawking Meets His Maker at Age 76

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, March 14, 2018:

Atheist Stephen Hawking met his Maker on Wednesday, March 14, at age 76. One imagines that the meeting didn’t go well for him.

For most of Hawking’s life here on Earth, he denied the existence of God, declaring himself an atheist and claiming, “There is no Heaven or afterlife.… That is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.” He famously declared:

Venezuela Descends into Barbarity and Depravity

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, December 22, 2017:

Former Harvard University professor George Santayana said, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” What’s frustrating isn’t that those lessons are obscure; it’s that those promoting provable falsehoods from history are allowed such public acceptance and credibility. It reminds one of the cigarette sellers’ slogan: “Winston tastes good like a cigarette should.” Never mind that smoking will kill you.

That’s why this writer holds in such contempt liars like

Dana Loesch and the NRA Miss an Opportunity to Tell the Whole Truth About the New York Times

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, August 9, 2017:

Dana Loesch, the conservative radio talk show host and spokeswoman for the NRA, has cut several videos promoting the pro-Second Amendment group, sometimes with such cutting commentary as to arouse the ire of her intended targets. The latest one that surfaced last Thursday was aimed directly at the mouthpiece of the liberal establishment: The New York Times.

She called out the paper in no uncertain terms:

New York Times Shrinks Print Staff; 100 Taking Severance Offers

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, July 21, 2017:

On Thursday more than 100 staffers at the New York Times, including copy editors and reporters, took their only option: severance packages offered as the paper continues to shrink its print staff.

Though they were warned well in advance, many of those whose jobs were in jeopardy decided to wait until the bitter end, hoping to snag one of the few new job openings at the Times’ digital operations. For many, those final job interviews turned out instead to be offers to take the severance package, as their job skills no longer fit the new paradigm at The Gray Lady.

Red ink has been flowing for years as the Times struggled with a shrinking print audience and a technology that wasn’t keeping up with audiences switching to online media for their information. In January the Times published an internal report, “Journalism That Stands Apart,” crafted by seven of the newspaper’s journalists. It was blunt in its assessment:

New ATF Head Wants Computerized Database of All Gun Purchases

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Deputy Director Thomas Brandon, head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) appeared on CBS’s Sunday Morning television show, complaining that his agency is “a small agency with a big job” and that he really needs more agents and more money to do that job.

What he would really like, however, is a computerized database of all gun purchases made by every buyer and seller in the country:

UN Demands “Robust Gun Control” After Orlando Terror

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, June 15, 2016:

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Responding to the Islamist terror attack in Orlando that killed 50 people in a “gun-free zone,” the United Nations and its “High Commissioner for Human Rights” claimed again Tuesday that the U.S. government has an “obligation” to implement “robust gun regulation.” According to UN human-rights chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the terrorist massacre and other killings are a “direct result” of the U.S. government’s adherence to the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment, which protects the God-given right of Americans to keep and bear arms from infringement.

However, critics ridiculed both the idea and the UN itself, noting, among other facts, that the attack occurred in a “gun-free zone.” In light of the controversial remarks, gun-rights leaders also reiterated calls for the United States to withdraw from the UN and stop funding it with American taxpayer dollars.

The scandal-plagued UN human rights boss, currently under fire worldwide for persecuting whistleblowers to protect child-raping UN “peace” troops, used multiple outright falsehoods to demonize the rights of Americans. Among other claims, the Islamic UN bureaucrat insisted that

Does the Media Lie? Only When It Serves Its Purposes

This article was published by the McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, June 15, 2016:

English: Donald Trump speaking at CPAC 2011 in...

The brouhaha over Donald Trump’s revocation of press credentials from the Washington Post has reignited the question: can the press lie in order to prove a point or promote an agenda?

The Donald doesn’t think so. On Monday morning, following the massacre in Orlando, Trump said this on Facebook:

I am no fan of President Obama, but to show you how dishonest the phony Washington Post is, they wrote, “Donald Trump Suggests President Obama Was Involved With Orlando shooting” as their headline. Sad!

Twenty minutes later he pulled the plug on WaPo journos:

Obama to Put Alaska’s Wildlife Refuge Off Limits to Drilling

This article first appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, January 26, 2015:

On Sunday the White House released a 58-second-long YouTube video of President Obama announcing that his Interior Department was about to present a “comprehensive plan” to “make sure that this amazing wonder [the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — ANWR] is preserved for future generations.” That designation concerns the 1.5-million acre coastal plain of the ANWR, precisely the area that has been the focus of controversy since the late 1970s. It is said to have more than 10 billion barrels of recoverable oil beneath its surface, and has served as a political football between the oil industry and environmentalists ever since.

The reaction by Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski was instant:

Fracking Mythbusters

This is the second of two articles on fracking that will appear shortly in the print edition of The New American magazine:

Myths become reality only when they are left unchallenged. There are so many myths, half-truths, misstatements, and distortions about the issue of fracking that one scarcely knows where to begin. The most egregious is the falsehood that “you can light your tap water on fire because of fracking.”

This canard first saw the light of day in Gasland, a propaganda piece produced by Josh Fox (pictured below) and funded and supported by various extremist members and groups affiliated with the environmental movement. Early in the film, Fox showed a flaming faucet belonging to Weld County, Colorado, homeowner Mike Markham. In that segment, when a lighted match touched water flowing from his kitchen faucet, it virtually exploded into flame.

Not mentioned in that sequence, however, was that Markham knew about his flaming faucet well before Fox showed up on his doorstep with his cameramen and that he also knew that

The Press Release from the Treasury Department is Pure Propaganda

This article was first published at The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, October 7, 2013:

The so-called “brinkmanship” press release by the Treasury Department reveals far more about the willingness of the media to report and repeat a canard that it does about the “crisis” facing the US if the government defaults.

Here are the title and just the opening paragraphs from the Treasury Department:

President’s Speeches on the Economy Draw Attention Away from His Scandals and Falling Poll Numbers

From the New York Times to Politico.com the president’s speech to students at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois on Wednesday was headline news. More than an hour long, it contained enough platitudes, sound bites and falsehoods to keep pundits busy and away from more about the Benghazi, IRS, NSA surveillance scandals and Obamacare fallout which have caused the president’s poll numbers to plummet. It was time to get out of Dodge and take

DHS’ Napolitano Leaves Legacy of Corruption, Lies, Lawsuits and Waste

Many were surprised at Janet Napolitano’s announcement that she was leaving her position as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at the end of August to become President of the University of California. Chosen from more than 300 candidates vying for the position, Napolitano managed to keep her interest in, and her successful bid for, that position from the public until Friday.

She issued the usual departure appreciation statement:

More gun myths exploded

There are many gun myths out there, and as soon as one pops up it gets mowed down by researchers armed with facts. But right behind it another one pops up. Kyle Wintersteen is one of the mowers.

Before the Senate bill to expand background checks flamed out, Obama kept saying that 90 percent of the American people were behind such legislation and that only
