Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

More Fake News: NRA Bans Guns at Its Own Convention!

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, May 1, 2018:

It all started with an Associated Press (AP) tweet: “NRA bans guns at President Trump, VP Pence speeches during it’s [sic] annual meeting in Dallas.” The Washington Post jumped on it, as if it were real news, offering a misleading headline to its story: “The NRA said guns will be banned during a Pence speech; Parkland students see hypocrisy.”

This likely reflected a tweet from one of the “heroes” of the Parkland, Florida, massacre, Cameron Kasky, who is credited with founding the anti-gun group March for Our Lives. Tweeted Kasky: “The NRA has evolved into such a hilarious parody of itself.”

The Huffington Post chimed in:

Donald Trump, Meet Randolph Bourne

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, April 16, 2018:

The Founding Fathers, through their study of history, personal experience, and the Holy Scriptures, knew the nature of man. Accordingly, they did everything they could think of to, as Jefferson put it, “bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” Jesus asked, “Whoever is without sin, throw the first stone.” The Apostle Paul said, “All of have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” adding “There is no one righteous, no, not one.”

George Washington put it this way: “Government is not reason. It is not eloquence. It is force. Like fire, it is both a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

But President Donald Trump, although he may be generally aware of the Founders’ distrust of man, is not likely to know anything about Randolph Bourne. That’s unfortunate because what Bourne wrote back in 1918 would certainly be helpful right about now.  Titled “War is the Health of the State,” Bourne explained:

Trump’s Attack on Syria vs. the (Ignored) Constitution

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Sunday, April 15, 2018:

While the U.S. attack against Syria was underway, President Donald Trump told the nation Friday night: “A short time ago, I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapons capabilities of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now under way. We thank them both…. Last Saturday [April 7], the Assad regime again deployed chemical weapons to slaughter innocent civilians, this time in the town of Douma near the Syrian capital of Damascus. This massacre was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons used by that very terrible regime..”

This was a far cry from the Donald Trump before he became president. Here are just three of his tweets BP (before becoming president):

Is the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Impervious to Change?

his article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, April 2, 2018:

The president’s problem with the 9th Circuit – provably the most liberal court in the land with a nearly 80 percent reversal rate on rulings that are appealed to and considered by the Supreme Court – may be the same faced by George Armstrong Custer: there were just too many Indians! In Trump’s case, there may be too many liberals, both on the court and in the Senate for him to make any substantive change, no matter how desperate the need.

Custer didn’t recover, but, over time, the American Republic just might. With the death of the court’s most liberal judge, “liberal lion” Stephen Reinhardt, law professor Carl Tobias got excited:

Remington Arms Declares Bankruptcy, Will Continue Operating Under Chapter 11

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, March 26, 2018:

Remington Arms

Remington Arms

Remington Arms filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 in Delaware  on Sunday evening. Directors of the 200-year-old company — America’s oldest gun maker — threw in the towel: “Directors have determined that it is advisable and in the best interests of the Company that the Company file … a Voluntary Petition … for Chapter 11 [bankruptcy].”

Observers blamed the president and Adam Lanza for the filing. Remington’s sales of its iconic shotguns, rifles, and pistols were increasing during the 2016 presidential election as American gun owners, fearing that anti-gun Hillary Clinton would assume the presidency in November, went on a buying spree. When Donald Trump won, those gun buyers not only breathed a sigh of relief, they ended the spree, leaving gun shops with vast inventories and gun manufacturers such as Remington with falling sales and revenues.

Others blamed Adam Lanza for using one of Remington’s products, its Bushmaster AR-15, to kill 20 youngsters in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012. They note that the families of those victims filed a class-action wrongful-death lawsuit against Remington two years later, which lawsuit is presently before the Connecticut Supreme Court.

Those much more familiar with Remington’s recent history are blaming the company itself

Why Andrew McCabe Was Fired

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Saturday, March 17, 2018:

The seal of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally fired former Deputy Director of the Federal FBI Andrew McCabe late on Friday, using formal language that explained the reasoning why: McCabe “had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.”

Witnesses under oath swear “to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Obviously, lacking candor does not meet this standard. Session did not call McCabe a “liar” or “perjurer” in his statement, but the implication was there.

Here is Sessions’ statement:

Two “Republicans” Divide Vote in Pennsylvania’s Special Election

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, March 15, 2018:

The New York Times fairly chortled when it reported on Democrat Conor Lamb’s victory over Trump-endorsed Republican Rick Saccone in Tuesday’s special election in Pennsylvania. The liberal Times wrote:

Conor Lamb, a Democrat, pulled off a narrow but major upset by winning a special House election in the heart of Pennsylvania Trump country. Mr. Lamb won in the state’s 18th Congressional District, a reliably Republican seat in recent elections and an area that Donald J. Trump won by nearly 20 percentage points in 2016. The victory is an ominous sign for Republicans ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

What the Times failed to mention is that Conor Lamb won because he sounded more like a Republican than the Republican, taking pro-gun, pro-life, pro-tariffs, and — ready? — anti-Nancy Pelosi stands. Those stands are a warning to Democrats seeking to repeat Lamb’s victory: They will have to adopt much more conservative positions than usual to win in November.

Republican Representative Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania’s 3rd District said Lamb was “more like a Republican” in his positions. House Speaker Paul Ryan said the race was unique:

Pennsylvania’s Special Election is Bad News for Democrats

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, March 16, 2018:

Despite claims by the mainstream media that the victory of the Democrat in Pennsylvania’s special election on Tuesday over the Trump-endorsed Republican sounded the death knell for Republicans in November, the exact opposite is true. The only way Democrats have any chance of turning the 25 seats they need in the House in their direction is for them to become Republicans. That’s the lesson from Pennsylvania.

It wasn’t so much a battle of Republican versus Democrat but a battle of Americanist A versus Americanist B. Americanist A, one Conor Lamb, looks like he was selected from central casting: handsome, articulate, and skilled in public discourse. Americanist B, Rick Saccone, didn’t measure up. Lamb’s campaign supporting the Second Amendment, Trump’s tariffs, the local coal industry, the right to life for the unborn left Saccone without any leverage. How does one debate someone who already agrees with you on the basics?

Political Knives Resheathed, Trump Endorses Romney for Senate

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, February 20, 2018:

Political expediency likely forced President Trump to endorse the former presidential two-time loser for the Senate from Utah. But it was more than three days between Mitt Romney’s slick video announcement that he would run for Utah Senator Orrin Hatch’s seat and Trump’s decision to give Romney his endorsement. The president’s advisors no doubt reminded him that Romney is virtually guaranteed to win Hatch’s seat in November, with or without his endorsement, and that Trump nearly lost Utah in the presidential election in November 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell weighed in on the matter as well, reminding Trump of the loss of Roy Moore in Alabama and how narrow the Republican majority is in the Senate, and urging him to support Romney.

Tweeted Trump on Monday night:

Why Didn’t Politifact Jump on the “18 Mass Shootings” Lie as Well?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, February 19, 2018:

Politifact, the fact-checking website run by the Tampa Bay Times, was quick to discredit the blatantly false headline, “Michelle Obama: Florida shooting is clearly Trump’s fault, these shootings are happening constantly since he became our president” offered by an alt-right blogger.

Politifact searched for confirmation and, finding none, informed its readers “that former first lady Michelle Obama did not make those remarks … in any format whatsoever.” No website that picked up the story “should be trusted,” added the fact-checking service.

Wouldn’t that include Everytown for Gun Safety, which promoted the lie that there have been 18 mass shootings in the country since the first of the year? Wouldn’t those MSM outlets that picked it up without question also fairly and reasonably not “be trusted” either? John Lott, the founder of the Crime Prevention Research Center and author of bestseller More Guns, Less Crime, put the torch to the lie:

Trump More Comfortable With His Faith at Prayer Breakfast

English: Donald Trump's signature.

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, February 8, 2018:

During his 15-minute speech at the 66th annual Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning, President Donald Trump exhibited much greater comfort in his faith than he has shown previously.

He opened by giving credit to God for His blessings on this unique nation:

Our founders invoked our Creator four times in the Declaration of Independence; our currency declares “In God We Trust,” and we place our hands on our hearts as we recite the pledge of allegiance and proclaim we are one nation under God. That is why the words “Praise be to God” are etched atop the Washington Monument, and those same words are etched into the hearts of our people. So today we praise God for how truly blessed we are to be American.

And then he treaded where the previous president feared to go: Trump unabashedly used the name of Jesus Christ:

Sorry, Inflation Worries are Not Behind the Selloff in Stocks

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, February 7, 2018:

All manner of explanations for the recent market selloff in stocks have come out of the woodwork: the market has gotten ahead of itself; it was due for a correction anyway; it’s been 400 days since a three percent correction; and so on. The least informed is that all of a sudden there is inflation! See? The yield on the 10-year Treasury is up 80 basis points since September! That must mean there’s inflation! Couple that with the “surge” in wages just reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2.9 percent year-over-year compared to 2.2 percent reported previously) and – voila! – inflation is back. Time to take profits!

Most commentators didn’t bother to check with the Fed, specifically the Cleveland Fed and the St. Louis Fed, which report the real numbers on inflation and money supply. First:

The Unlamented Passing of a “Free Trade” Pro-illegal Immigration Fraud, Peter Sutherland

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, January 15, 2018:

DAVOS/SWITZERLAND, 27JAN11 - Peter D. Sutherla...

Peter D. Sutherland

Peter Sutherland lived just long enough to see his dream – a beige world filled with non-resistant sheeple – seriously challenged. He is quoted as saying that plans to extricate itself from the European Union by the United Kingdom (Brexit) are “insane” and “morally indefensible.” During President Trump’s first year in office, Sutherland was in declining health (he’d suffered a heart attack last year and had never fully recovered) and so quotes about his opinion of MAGA and “America First” aren’t available. But during Trump’s presidential campaign Sutherland was in full throat:

Sheriff Joe Incurs Wrath of Liberals in Announcing for Jeff Flake’s Senate Seat

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, January 11, 2018:

speaking in Phoenix, Arizona on February 26, 2011.

Joe Arpaio, the World’s Toughest Sheriff

During an interview with Fox and Friends on Wednesday morning former Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced he would be running for Senator Jeff Flake’s seat in the upcoming primary. Said Arpaio: “I’m doing it for the people of Arizona, for our country and to support our great president.”

This immediately elicited a tweet from President Trump: “Sheriff Joe is a patriot, Sheriff Joe loves our country, Sheriff Joe protected our borders.” “Sheriff Joe” also ticked off vast numbers of liberals for having the audacity at age 85 to run for Flake’s seat in the upcoming primary. One of the most prominent is Tom Perez, the hard-left liberal running the Democratic National Committee (DNC), who said,

Deep State: Pulling Strings From Behind the Scenes, by Alex Newman

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, January 8, 2018. Its author, Alex Newman, will be speaking in Colorado Springs at 21C Library on Wednesday evening, February 7th, on the same topic. If you need a ticket, call me at 481-3890.

Even a mere few years ago, many Americans would have scoffed at the idea of privately organized individuals controlling the levers of government. Now most people see it.

In 1770, William Pitt famously told the U.K. House of Lords that “there is something behind the throne greater than the king himself.” Today, in the face of what appears to be a broad and highly coordinated effort to destroy President Donald Trump, Americans are waking up in huge numbers to the fact that there is a hidden “power behind the throne” in America, too. Trump himself has helped to bring about this awakening. For instance, among other concerns, candidate and later President Trump warned his followers about the “swamp,” about a “cabal” seeking “global government,” and of course, about the “Deep State” seeking to sabotage the United States and especially his America First agenda. This view is now becoming mainstream, the evidence suggests.

In fact, an ABC News/Washington Post poll from April of 2017 shows that

The GOP Tax Reform Bill Now Ready for Trump’s Signature

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, December 21, 2017:

Without a single Democrat vote in either the House or the Senate, the tax reform bill headed for President Donald Trump’s desk on Wednesday is likely to cost them dearly in the midterm elections. That is, if the bill works as intended: giving Americans “more take home pay” as the president expressed it, adding. “It will be an incredible Christmas gift for hardworking Americans.”

Most of those hardworking Americans won’t see a thing until

Trump Can’t Do Everything Himself, so He Nominated Neomi Rao to Help Him

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, December 18, 2017:

speaking at CPAC in Washington D.C. on Februar...

Who? Up until Thursday, few had ever heard of Neomi Rao. Looking into her background, fewer still would have predicted the role she is playing in helping President Donald Trump keep one of his most important campaign promises.

After graduating from Yale University with “highest distinction” in ethics, economics, and philosophy, she attended the University of Chicago Law School where she received her Juris Doctor degree. She was comment editor of the school’s law review and also executive editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.

But she never drank from the cup of regulatory Kool-Aid. Instead she went on to clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and from there to serve as a staffer on the Senate Judiciary Committee. In 2012, she received tenure from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School where she founded the Center for the Study of the Administrative State.

In other words, until Thursday, Rao was invisible.

But when Trump nominated her in April to his Office of Management and Budget with the mind-bending title of Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Jonathan Adler took notice.

Trump’s Regulatory Rollback: Not 2 to 1, but 22 to 1!

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, December 18, 2017:

Speaking in the Roosevelt Room — an irony that may have been intended — Trump summarized brilliantly exactly how the greatest economic miracle in history got bogged down:

Head of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Resigns, Giving Trump Chance to Abolish It

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, November 15, 2017:

Richard Cordray

Richard Cordray, the rogue head of the unaccountable Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), announced on Wednesday that, effective at the end of the month, he would be leaving his post. In an internal e-mail he told his 1,623 employees, “I have told the senior leadership … that I expect to step down from my position here before the end of the month.”

The CFPB was created in July 2011 as part of the Dodd-Frank bill that was hastily passed following the real estate crisis of 2007-2008 that led to the Great Recession. It is physically located inside

Democrats: Victory in Virginia Governor’s Race a Rejection of Trump

The win by Democrat Ralph Northam over Republican Ed Gillespie in the Virginia governor’s race on Tuesday has breathed desperately-needed oxygen into Democrats who have lost race after race since President Trump was elected a year ago. Some have gone over the top, suggesting that it’s the Republican Party that has now become carrion, whose bones will be picked clean in 2018.

The Washington Post’s James Hohmann could scarcely contain his glee:
