Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

CDC Buried Data Supporting Defensive Use of Firearms

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, April 24, 2018:

Gary Kleck, a criminologist now retired from Florida State University, was likely astonished to learn that his controversial study, The National Self-Defense Survey, was accurate after all. He and FSU fellow professor Marc Gertz concluded, based on their carefully-crafted surveys conducted in 1993, that there were more than 2.2 million defensive gun uses (DGU) each year in the United States. The results were presented in 1994, published in 1995, and have been incessantly attacked by the anti-gun movement ever since. His conclusions didn’t fit the anti-gun narrative that guns are used in crimes far more than in self-defense and therefore private ownership must be abolished.

Kleck just learned that almost immediately after the publication of his study, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a federal agency that receives more than $11 billion of taxpayer money every year, conducted its own study of the matter. It conducted three separate studies, in fact, and each of them came to the same conclusion as Kleck and Gertz: indeed, about 2.5 million Americans use guns to defend themselves or their families every year.

But the CDC studies were never published.

It would have infuriated the powers-that-be in the Clinton administration, and so the results were buried.

After reviewing the newly-discovered/recovered studies, Kleck — in his best professorial manner — wrote:

Harvey, Illinois, Can’t Make Pension Contributions, Lays off Police & Firemen

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, April 13, 2018:

Tuesday’s decision by the city of Harvey, Illinois, a Chicago suburb with a population of 24,950, to lay off nearly half of its police and fire-department workers came a day after a judge ruled against the city’s emergency motion asking the judge to keep the sales and use tax revenues collected by the state flowing to the city, instead of being diverted to pay pension-plan contributions the city has failed to make for years.

Under a state law passed in 2010, Illinois, which collects various sales and use taxes from residents of and visitors to the city in order to pay for city employees and services, can instead in effect garnish those taxes and use them to

Why do Anti-gun Politicians Continue to Push for Buyback Programs?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, January 17, 2018:

Former Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie

After all, they don’t work. They are fraudulent from the very beginning, implying that a government is merely buying back firearms from private citizens that it initially sold to them. But still the failed “experiments” in reducing gun violence continue.

They lack logic. Criminals seeking to rid themselves of an offending weapon aren’t likely to show up at a police station or other public place, relying on the promise that there will be “no questions asked.” Not when a much easier alternative exists: toss it into the river.

Studies showing their failure to reduce crime don’t impress anti-gun politicians. The first gun buy-back program in the United States happened in Baltimore, Maryland in 1974. It was considered a failure when, during the program’s two-month existence, gun violence and assaults actually increased.

New Jersey to Start Statewide Gun Buyback Program

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, January 16, 2018:

The state-wide gun buyback bill headed for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s desk, A-2374, contains dangerous language. The state’s attorney general would be obligated to hold “at least” three gun buybacks every year throughout the state. The bill’s sponsor wants nine. Now that anti-gun Democrat Phil Murphy is governor, he is likely to press for even more.

State Senator Linda Greenstein (D-Middlesex) sponsored the bill and declared that

The Southern Poverty Law Center Hates God

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, August 25, 2017:

In a recent interview, Judge Roy Moore was asked about the Southern Poverty Law Center. He responded, “The Southern Poverty Law Center has had Ben Carson on their hate list. They’ve had Tony Perkins [of the Family Research Council] on their hate list. The truth is: they’re the ones that hate. They hate God, and they hate the acknowledgement of God.”

This should surprise no one who has even briefly looked into the background of the SPLC. It has hated God and His people for decades. When Morris Dees founded the outfit in 1971, he named his good friend Julian Bond as president. Bond, it will be remembered

Frank Wright, the CEO of the ministries, explained why it is suing the SPLC:

Civilization’s Thin Veneer

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, December 14, 2016:

The dictionary defines civilization as “an ideal state of human culture characterized by a complete absence of barbarism and non-rational behavior.” Rich Galen thinks a better definition is living in a “constant state of positive assumptions.”

Many of those assumptions are coming into question, with many more already proven to be false. One of them is that pension plans are safe, that promises made will be kept, and that the assumptions underlying those plans regarding rates of return on invested assets are reasonable and that they virtually guarantee predictable results.

Those positive assumptions vanished last summer in Athens when

Calling Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby a “runaway prosecutor” in the Freddie Gray case, legal activist and law professor John Banzhaf filed a complaint last Thursday with the Maryland Bar Counsel. He demanded an investigation into her mishandling of the prosecution of six officers involved in the Freddie Gray case on several grounds:

Marilyn Mosby has given radicals a lesson in how to destroy faith in the criminal justice system. Without faith that it is fair, balanced, and just, it won’t work. The society will instead degenerate into mob violence and mob rule. That will lead to oppression and a federal police state. That process is already well underway in Baltimore.

In less than 100 days in office, Mosby had her chance.

Venezuela Collapsing; U.S. Officials Fear Violence, Military Coup

U.S. intelligence officials warned on May 14 that Venezuela is descending into economic and political chaos that is likely to end in street violence, military suppression of citizens’ rights, and a possible coup to remove President Nicolás Maduro.

How much of that reflects CIA interventions to keep the crisis somewhat under control is an open question. But one of those anonymous “intelligence officials” told the Wall Street Journal that “[our] goal is to mitigate the crisis that they’re experiencing. It’s in the United States’ interest that Venezuela not bottom out.”

If past experience serves as a guide for the future, the CIA could

Was Houston Mosque Fire a False Flag Event?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, December 31, 2015:

When Gary Nathaniel Moore was arrested on Wednesday on charges that he set the fire at a Houston Mosque on Christmas Day, the narrative promoted by the national media blew up.

During the investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (known as the ATF), Moore was identified from surveillance videos of the scene of the crime and confirmed after a search warrant revealed evidence in his home of charcoal lighter-fluid bottles that matched one left at the mosque.

In the days before Moore’s arrest, however, the narrative promoted by the mainstream media was that somehow it was a “hate crime” resulting from inflammatory statements made by

Social Security’s Chief Actuary Meets Charles Ponzi

Mug shot of Charles Ponzi

In its apologetic over Social Security, the New York Times saw the most significant problem facing the scheme, according to the program’s chief actuary, Stephen Goss, is “that fewer workers are paying taxes into the program … while more retirees are collecting their checks.”

And thus it has always been: every Ponzi scheme fails when “new” investors cannot be recruited into it in sufficient numbers to pay off the “older” ones. The only reason Social Security has survived for so long – it just turned 80 this year – is because of guns and badges and threats.

Charles Ponzi had no such power. He had to rely on ignorance and greed. His scheme ran for more than a year before the fraud was discovered and he was jailed. His shtick?

“Gaswork”: Josh Fox’s Latest Film Called a Hoax

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, October 5, 2015:

Josh Fox, the independent filmmaker who made a name for himself in the anti-fracking movement with his controversial film Gasland, introduced a new anti-fracking film last Thursday called Gaswork: The Fight for C.J.’s Law on the MSNBC show All In With Chris Hayes.

The “C.J.” of the film’s title is C.J. Bevins, a 23-year-old roughneck who was working at a gas drilling site in Smyrna, New York, in May of 2011 when a forklift accidentally pinned him against a trailer, causing his death. When Fox learned of the tragedy, he knew he had his next assignment: reviewing the safety and health of workers in the oil and gas fracking industry.

Although Bevins died in a freak accident, Fox instead used his death to focus on the alleged dangers of fracking chemicals, claiming:

Social Security Disability Trust Fund Could Be Depleted by Late 2016

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, July 23, 2015:

Every year the language of the trustees of the Social Security system becomes more strident, and every year the managers of the program kick the can further down the road. In its report issued on Wednesday, the Social Security and Medicare Board of Trustees stated that “Social Security’s Disability Insurance (DI) Trust Fund now faces an urgent threat of reserve depletion, requiring prompt corrective action by lawmakers if sudden reductions or interruptions in benefit payments are to be avoided.” The report noted:

Congress, by Voice Vote, Foists International ID Cards on Everyone

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, June 12, 2015:

Politicians have a knack for naming their bills with titles that are backwards, intended to deceive. There’s the Patriot Act, instead of the Fourth Amendment Obliteration Act. There’s the Affordable Care Act, which makes healthcare more expensive and less available.

And then there’s the Girls Count Act, a deceptive title designed to lead one to believe that it has something to do with empowering girls worldwide, making certain that they have access to services and are able to exercise all their rights. Even the opening paragraph expands the deceit:

Will the Clinton Foundation’s Deceit Finish Hillary?

This article was first published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, May 1, 2015:

In January 2014 Dinesh D’Souza was indicted by federal prosecutors for violating federal campaign finance laws. In September of that year he was sentenced to five years’ probation, eight months in a “community confinement center,” and was fined $30,000. He also was required to perform eight hours of community service every week and must undergo court-mandated therapy for his crime.

His crime: contributing $20,000 to campaigns in the names of some friends.

Hillary has arranged for more than 1,100 donors to contribute millions to her campaign for president.

Question: How much community service will she be required to perform?

Clinton Foundation’s Defenses Continue to Unravel

This article first appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, April 30, 2015:

The growing public awareness and outrage at the seeming fraud, deceit, and obfuscation at the Clinton Foundation, where more than 1,100 donors weren’t disclosed, violating an agreement Hillary Clinton made with the White House prior to taking over as secretary of state in 2008, continues to build. At the forefront and in the public’s headlights for the moment is the case of Frank Giustra, which we commented on in a previous article:
