Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

Empire State Survey: Manufacturing Optimism “Tumbles”

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, April 18, 2018:

It wasn’t the headline from the Empire State Manufacturing Survey released on Monday that rattled investors, although it was bad enough: “The general business conditions [the current conditions] index, at 15.8, remained firmly in positive territory [anything above zero is a positive], although its seven-point decline from its March level pointed to a somewhat slower pace of growth.” (Emphasis added.) In March that current conditions index was at 22.5, having come off a previous high in October of almost 30.

It was what followed that rattled more than a few investors seeking cracks in the façade of the Goldilocks economy:

Navarro or Kudlow for Trump’s Chief Economic Advisor? Navarro in a Walk.

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, March 14, 2018:

Reuters reported that Trump is down to the final two candidates to fill the void left by Gary Cohn’s departure: Peter Navarro and Larry Kudlow. Kudlow has an elegant public persona honed through years of practice while Navarro is known to be abrasive and harsh both in public and in private.

But Peter Navarro has the president’s ear, at least for the moment. Navarro persuaded the president that “free trade” agreements like NAFTA and the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) are Trojan Horses: all dressed up to look like “free trade” (who could be against that?), but hiding inside the machinery for regional and then international government. And he won the battle of tariffs, resulting in the departure of globalist Gary Cohn (CFR member and former Goldman Sachs CEO).

Navarro knows what Kudlow should know about China. Navarro wrote a book about the threat while Kudlow has yet to mention it on his CNBC show “The Kudlow Report.” The threat has been successfully hidden by the mainstream media for years until Navarro wrote

Red Flag Warning: States Confiscating Guns by Ignoring Fourth Amendment

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, March 12, 2018:

An assortment of new restrictions on the Second Amendment in Florida also launched an attack on the Fourth Amendment, as well. As The New American noted last week, Florida’s new “red flag” law abrogates the Fourth Amendment on the way to violating the Second Amendment:

Simply put, someone who thinks someone else might be a danger to himself or others can present his arguments to a judge who then, based upon those arguments, is free to decide whether the state (police armed with guns and badges) can forcibly remove privately and legally owned firearms from that person’s possession. The “red flag” provisions do not allow the person charged to defend himself or even to know who his accuser might be. Further, he must prove his innocence in order to get his confiscated firearms returned to him. He is “guilty until he proves himself innocent.”

All in violation of the Fourth Amendment, which states: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Jonas Oransky, deputy director of Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, was delighted, calling the adoption of such laws a “new frontier” in the long war against private gun ownership in America:

Is Common Sense Finally Returning to the Nation’s School Boards?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, March 5, 2018:

Thomas Edison said “The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are: hard work, stick-to-itiveness, and common sense.” That may explain why so few accomplish anything worthwhile, because “Common Sense, Isn’t!”

Take the average school board. For years, nearly all of them have bought the argument that if you post enough “gun free” zones around the schools, shooters will take heed and go elsewhere. A parody of this nonsense can still be found on YouTube (see Sources below).

What those “gun free” zones mean to murderous thugs is “safe shooters’ hunting preserves!” John Lott, founder of the Crime Prevention Research Center, has proven statistically that 98 percent of all “gun free” zones have been the target of all mass shootings.

But finally a trigger point may have been reached:

More Schools Allow Teachers and Staff to Arm Themselves

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, March 5, 2018:

During the Pike County, Kentucky, school board hearing last Wednesday night, the board reached a unanimous decision to approve arming teachers and staff at the county’s 25 schools. Predictably, Executive Director Jon Akers of the Kentucky Center for School Safety said that “every educational group across the country” opposes the idea.

Said Akers, the idea “scares me to death … arming people who are not trained equal to that of law enforcement officers is risky.”

Akers’ argument, like so many being offered by people such as him, just doesn’t hold any water. Under the new proposal, school teachers and staff could volunteer to carry concealed at the schools, but only after passing a background check, a drug test, a mental evaluation, and a qualification course. And they would have to requalify regularly.

Teachers’ unions are nearly out of arguments, especially in light of the massacre of innocents in Florida on Valentine’s Day. Those innocent students had no chance to defend themselves because the school was declared a “gun free” zone. Those opposed to arming teachers say that such programs

Did “Something Happen” that Ghastly day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, February 26, 2018:

When President Trump learned that a Broward County (Florida) sheriff could have ended the shooting spree almost immediately but didn’t, he told a reporter: “He [Scot Peterson] trained his whole life. When it came time to get in there and do something, he didn’t have the courage or something happened, but he certainly did a poor job – there’s no question about that.”

If the reporter asked Trump what he meant by “something happened” it was not recorded. But the president, who knows more than he is allowed to say about such incidents, might have given away the scam.

Media Ignore Real Hero in Florida Shooting: Unarmed Off-duty Police Officer Heinrich

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, February 26, 2018:

Stoneman Douglas High School, located in Parkland, Florida.

It is Coral Springs Police Department Sergeant Jeff Heinrich who deserves most of the credit in ending the shooting spree by Nikolas Cruz, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last Wednesday. Unfortunately nearly all media attention has been focused on the “failures” of Sheriff Scot Peterson, entrusted with maintaining safety on the school grounds, and three other deputies who showed up shortly after the shooting began. Those failures included a decision not to confront the shooter for at least four minutes, allowing him to kill 17 people and wound many more. The delay also allowed the shooter to leave the scene in the chaos of students fleeing the building without being noticed or apprehended.

Heinrich is a long-time supporter of the school. His wife is an assistant athletic director, and their son is a student (who survived the shooting). Heinrich was off-duty, unarmed, wearing just shorts and a t-shirt, and watering the baseball field when he first heard the fire alarm go off followed by rifle shots. He immediately ran toward the sound of gunfire. Reporters with the local paper Tribunist wrote what happened next:

Potentially Deadly Mass Shooting Thwarted, Ignored by MSM

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, February 19, 2018:

Mainstream media (MSM) bias was never more clearly displayed than when it ignored what could have been one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history in favor of the Florida school shooting. It happened the same day — Valentine’s Day — in Amarillo, Texas, when an armed street person entered the Faith City Mission and took between 100 and 150 worshipers hostage. Joshua Len Jones, age 35, who had been attending the morning service, left the building, retrieved a handgun, reentered the building, and threatened worshipers with it

The MSM was no doubt alerted by local media as soon as the event took place. But what unfolded would not serve their anti-gun agenda

Florida’s School “Gun Free Zone” No Deterrent to Crazy Nikolas Cruz

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, February 16, 2018:

There is no doubt that Nickolas Cruz is crazy. And there’s no doubt that the FBI and the officials at the school he attacked on Wednesday knew it. Cruz left abundant clues about his mental instability: gruesome pictures he published on social media of animals that he had brutally killed; claims that he wrote “Allahu Akbar” on Instagram; revelations that the FBI knew of his erratic behavior months ago when it was reported to them by one of Cruz’s classmates; that he was expelled last year from the same school he attacked for “disciplinary” reasons; classmates being intimidated by him and avoiding contact with him because he was “weird” and a “loner”; and so forth.

But when it came to target selection, Cruz knew exactly what he was doing.

Another Mental Case Shoots Up Florida School

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, February 15, 2018:

Almost immediately after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday afternoon, anti-gun group Everytown for Gun Safety decried it as the sixth school shooting so far this year. Others claimed that the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, a 19-year-old who was previously expelled from the school for disciplinary reasons, was a mental case who should never have had a firearm in the first place. In most media the common theme was the danger of guns and their proliferation.

Cruz left abundant clues about his mental instability:

Why do Anti-gun Politicians Continue to Push for Buyback Programs?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, January 17, 2018:

English: Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie

Former Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie

After all, they don’t work. They are fraudulent from the very beginning, implying that a government is merely buying back firearms from private citizens that it initially sold to them. But still the failed “experiments” in reducing gun violence continue.

They lack logic. Criminals seeking to rid themselves of an offending weapon aren’t likely to show up at a police station or other public place, relying on the promise that there will be “no questions asked.” Not when a much easier alternative exists: toss it into the river.

Studies showing their failure to reduce crime don’t impress anti-gun politicians. The first gun buy-back program in the United States happened in Baltimore, Maryland in 1974. It was considered a failure when, during the program’s two-month existence, gun violence and assaults actually increased.

Churches Ramp Up Protection Following Texas Rampage

New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado

It’s taking more than hope and good feelings to protect houses of worship from crazed attackers. Tomie Barker attends Christ Lutheran Church in Seguin, Texas, about 15 miles north of Sutherland Springs. She and her husband own firearms but have never taken one to church, until now: “Why should we take a gun to church? We feel like we ought to be safe [there].” But from now on they’ll have the assurance that comes not only from the Holy Scripture but from a firearm: “[My husband’s] not leaving home without it now.”

Many churches are waking up to their vulnerability.

Zig Ziglar speaking at the Get Motivated Seminar at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California.

When Zig Ziglar was trying to motivate salesmen, he would often tell them that “there aren’t very many problems that can’t be solved by sufficient production.” This, unfortunately, has been picked up by statist economists who have assumed that any production, at any cost, will solve any problem. Put another way, “We can grow our way out from under the massive debt we have. And we can grow the economy by stimulating it with borrowed funds.”

Sessions Lauds Miami-Dade, Bashes Chicago Over Sanctuary City Policies

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, August 17, 2017:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions took the opportunity during his visit to Miami (traffic circle shown) on Wednesday to praise the decision of Miami-Dade County officials to reverse the area’s three-year-old “sanctuary city” policy. He also used the time in front of a crowd of 150 law-enforcement officials to bash Mayor Rahm Emanuel and his city for its failure to do the same.

Said Sessions:

Texas Instructor Protests Campus Carry by Wearing Helmet and Body Armor to Class

His foolishness made the papers, and he took full advantage of the publicity, claiming the new law somehow puts him at risk:

No Need for Federal “Chicago Crime Gun Strike Force” if Police Allowed to Do Their Jobs

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, June 30, 2017:

In an early-morning tweet, President Donald Trump decried the violence in Chicago and announced that he was sending in “federal help.” But the rationale for this “help” would not exist if Chicago police were not hamstrung by the war on cops and the “Ferguson Effect.”

President Donald Trump’s early morning Tweet on Friday decried the continuing violence in Chicago and announced that he was sending in “federal help.” Tweeted the president: “Crime and killings in Chicago have reached such epidemic proportions that I am sending in Federal help. 1714 shootings in Chicago this year!”

As of Sunday June 25 there were 308 murders in Chicago as compared to 311 at the same time last year. President Trump disparaged the continuing violence in Chicago during his campaign and then following his inauguration, calling it “horrible carnage” and “out of control” and threatening to “send in the feds” without defining exactly that he meant.

With the creation of the “Chicago Crime Gun Strike Force” (unfortunately linking crime with guns in the public’s perception) observers are learning more about what he meant:

Why Mainstream Media Ignored the Story of the Capture of Two Escaped Convicts

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, June 19, 2017:

At a press conference in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, homeowner Patrick Hale gave all credit to Jesus Christ for the anti-climactic capture of two escaped convicts that occurred on his driveway last week. Though there were a dozen microphones lined up to hear his story, few, if any, were from the mainstream media. Said Hale:

John Lott Proves His Premise is Correct Once Again

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, May 5, 2017:

The premise of John Lott’s book, More Guns, Less Crime, now in its 3rd edition, is this: when a criminal doesn’t know if his potential target is armed, he reconsiders. When he is assured that his target is defenseless, he has much less reason to do so.

Lott puts it this way:

Criminals as a group tend to behave rationally – when crime becomes more [risky], less crime is committed.

That means that
