This article from the Heritage Foundation starts off badly, claiming that these bad regulations emanate from “unelected bureaucrats,” which is true. But where did they get their power? From the Congress. And how did Congress do that? By violating the the members swore to uphold and defend. So let’s put the blame squarely where it belongs: your and my elected representatives who violate their oath of every nearly every day.

However, that’s a diversion from what Heritage successfully has pointed out: These “top 10 worst” regulations are really something to behold:

1.’s Contraception Mandate

The Department of and Human Services on February 15 finalized its mandate that all insurance plans include coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization procedures, and contraceptives. To date, 42 cases with more than 110 plaintiffs are challenging this restriction on religious liberty.

Good luck with that, now that Justice Sotomayer – an Obama nominee who reflects his totalitarian ideology – has just blocked the court from considering one of those cases from Hobby Lobby.

2. Emissions Standards

The in February finalized strict new emissions standards for coal- and oil-fired electric utilities. The benefits are highly questionable, with the vast majority being unrelated to the emissions targeted by the regulation. The costs, however, are certain: an estimated $9.6 billion annually.

This is part of the plan to push us into using “green” energy while slowing down our economy even further. It’s part of the administration’s continuing on capitalism.

3.Fuel Efficiency Standards

In August, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in tandem with the Environmental Protection Agency, finalized fuel efficiency standards for cars and light trucks for model years 2017–2025. The rules require a whopping average fuel economy of 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025. Sticker prices will jump by hundreds of dollars.

You can see where this is going. GM has got to sell those Chevy Volts. By making other cars more expensive, the Volt is going to look cheap.

Heritage goes on with its list: NYC’s 16-ounce soda limits, dishwasher efficiency standards, school lunch requirements, and so on and so forth.

It all comes back to not following the limits under the Constitution. Once the chains that bind men down from mischief are broken, they engage in mischief.
