Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Saturday, November 28, 2015:

Norman Dodd, being interviewed by Ed Griffin in 1982, told of an interview he had with Rowan Gaither, head of the Ford Foundation in which Gaither exposed most clearly the foundation’s purposes. Dodd, at the time, was director of research for the Reese Committee, which was investigating American foundations’ undue and unknown influence.

The 2010 Heritage Foundation Index of Economic Freedom.

The latest report from the Cato Institute comes on top of a long and increasingly unhappy series of reports on freedom’s decline in America. Enitled the “Economic Freedom of the World” and updated with the latest data available (through 2013), the report ranks the United States in 16th position, down from second place when the index was first published in 2000. The United States has fallen behind such countries as New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Jordan, Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Chile.

Last year’s report showed the United States in 12th position.

The study measures freedom in five broad areas:

In his letter exonerating Navy Chaplain Wesley “Wes” Modder in September, Rear Admiral David Steindl wrote: “I have found the evidence of substandard performance in this case does not meet the standard of gross negligence or complete disregard of duty … Modder will not be detached for cause.”

The incident will be removed from his official personnel file. Modder has accepted an order to serve as chaplain at the Navy’s base in San Diego.

Modder’s record as Navy chaplain is impressive.

Appeals Court Upholds New York, Connecticut “Assault Weapons” Bans

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, October 20, 2015:

On Monday a three-judge panel of the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled unanimously that bans on possession of “assault weapons” by New York and Connecticut did not infringe on rights of citizens in those states guaranteed under the Second Amendment.

According to Tom King, the president of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, one of the numerous plaintiffs bringing the complaint, the decision was expected, was no surprise, and will be appealed:

Obama Ramping up the Rhetoric on gun Control

Barack Obama delivers a speech at the University of Southern California

Ever since Barack Obama first surfaced in public, he expressed opposition to the private ownership of guns by American citizens, and has been working ever since to limit that ownership with the goal of eliminating it altogether.

In 1996 when Obama ran for the Illinois State Senate, he was asked if he supported legislation to “ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.” He answered simply: “Yes.” He also wanted to ban “assault weapons” (semi-automatic firearms) and supported mandatory waiting periods, along with background checks, in order to make it more and more difficult for Americans to exercise their gun rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

In his third term in the Illinois Senate, he

Obama Wants US to Emulate Australia’s Gun Laws

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, October 7, 2015:

Official photographic portrait of US President...

Frustrated with the failure of his frontal attack on the Second Amendment, President Obama has chosen another approach: the United States should emulate Australia’s gun laws. A year ago, Obama said:

A couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown. And Australia just said, Well, that’s it, we’re not doing … we’re not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they haven’t had a mass shooting since.

Our levels of gun violence are off the charts. There’s no advanced, developed country that would put up with this.

In June he iterated the meme:

Where Did Sydney Jihadi Shooter Get a Handgun in “Gun-free” Australia?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, October 6, 2015:

Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia.

Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia.

Following the deliberate, cold-blooded murder of a Sydney, Australia police force employee by a 15-year-old jihadi last Friday, local authorities have been trying to find the answers to many questions.

On Friday afternoon, 4:30 p.m. local time, Farhad Jabar Khalil Mohammad, dressed in Islamic garb, walked up behind Curtis Cheng as he was leaving police headquarters in Parramatta on Sydney’s west side, pointed his handgun at the back of Cheng’s head, and squeezed the trigger. Cheng was dead before his body hit the ground. The teen then danced a jig in the street, shouting “Allahu Akbar!” Constables from headquarters who rushed outside found themselves targeted by the teen before they returned fire, killing the assassin.

The investigation, which is ongoing, determined that the youth,

The Fifth Annual report from the Fraser Institute, “The Human Freedom Index” published last month shows the U.S. falling from 17th place worldwide to 20th in the areas of personal, civil, and economic freedom.

Chinese Economy, Stock Market Continue to Crater

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, September 14, 2015:

News that China has offloaded more than $100 billion of U.S. Treasuries in August to support its currency and its cratering stock market caused many observers to raise concerns about China waging an “economic war” against the United States. It’s a threat the Chinese last expressed during the 2012 presidential election, that Beijing would “use its financial weapon to teach the U.S. a lesson” if it insisted on flouting Chinese interests, i.e., by selling arms to Taiwan, for example.

It now appears that the shoe is on the other foot. The Asian tiger is now a pussy cat, as its economy continues to crater and the Chinese central bank moves to weaken its currency and shore up its stock markets.

In the days following Beijing’s surprise announcement on August 11 that it was devaluing its currency by two percent, the yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury note jumped 10 percent, from

Hillary to Pick Up Where Obama is Leaving off

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, September 4, 2015:

Now that President Obama has essentially given up in his efforts to foist further restrictions on Americans’ right to keep and bear arms, and political odds makers have virtually declared Hillary Clinton as president of the United States in 2017, she now is feeling free to tell everyone how she really feels about the Second Amendment. If those pollsters are right (and they have an uncanny and unsettling history of being right), the long war against private gun ownership will continue long after Obama is gone.

Chris Cillizza, a staffer at The Washington Post, first noticed the change in Obama’s demeanor back in June when he spoke about the murders of nine people at a church in Charleston, South Carolina:

Hillary Taking on NRA in Quest for More Gun Control

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, September 3, 2015:

With the odds makers continuing to pick Hillary Clinton not only as the Democrat Party’s nominee but the odds-on favorite to win the White House in the November 2016 elections, she has decided to take the gloves off. She is now blatantly targeting and challenging the gun rights movement and the National Rifle Association as obstacles to be overcome in her drive to diminish further Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

Following the on-air shooting of two television reporters in Roanoke, Virginia, she declared:

With Constitutional Limitations Absent in Red China, Chinese-Americans are being Forcibly “Repatriated”

One enduring myth concerns an incident that allegedly occurred early in OJ Simpson’s career with the Buffalo Bills. He became so infatuated with himself and his ability to run the ball that he boasted one day that he really didn’t need the offensive line to block for him – that he could manage all by himself, he was that good.

The legend goes that during a series of three running plays the offensive line decided to show OJ just how much he could accomplish without their protection. They didn’t block for him, and OJ failed to gain one single yard.

That must be how Ling Wancheng feels, that is if he feels anything at all. Ling was born in China and built a successful business and settled in the United States in the early 1990s. He was protected by the Constitution, and his brother was a good friend and top aide to China’s then-president Hu Jintao. In addition, the US didn’t have at extradition treaty with China. So he was protected, or so he thought.

So he enjoyed life, American style. He played enough golf to get very good at it. He developed a wide network of friends, dressed flamboyantly, and was always the life of the party, to which he was frequently invited. He lived well too, in a gated community in Loomis, California.

And then he and his wife suddenly disappeared.

Chinese Agents “Persuading” Chinese Nationals in U.S. to Return Home

The article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, September 1, 2015:

Xi Jinping 习近平

Xi Jinping, beloved leader of China and great friend of the United States!

Two weeks ago the Obama administration delivered a warning to China about the presence of covert Chinese government agents working secretly inside the United States to “persuade” prominent Chinese expatriates to return home immediately, or face the consequences. The administration demanded an immediate halt to such activities.

The Chinese government blew off the demand in headlines such as

Revenge Motive Suspected in Houston Police Officer’s Murder

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, August 31, 2015:

Following his investigation of a routine automobile accident Friday night, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren Goforth (shown) pulled his police cruiser into a Chevron station on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, and began filling it up. Shannon Miles, a black man with a long criminal record, approached Goforth from behind and shot him in the head. Goforth pitched forward onto the pavement and Miles straddled his body, pumping three more bullets into his back.

Goforth died at the scene. Miles was tracked down by authorities and arrested and charged with capital murder early Saturday morning.

Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman called it an ambush. When asked about a possible motive, Hickman said only that

Revolutionary Rhetoric and the Murder of Officer Darren Goforth

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, August 31, 2015:

Following the self-defense shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman in 2013, three vicious Marxists formed a seething pot of revolutionary extremism called Black Lives Matter (BLM). They are Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi.

Garza genuflects at the memory of Assata Shakur, a member of the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army and the murderer in 1973 of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster:

Julian Bond Dead at 75; Radical Background Ignored by Media

Julian Bond of the NAACP

Julian Bond

While ignoring deep and decades-long communist sympathies, the mainstream media used the death of Julian Bond on Saturday to glorify a radical revolutionary, calling him a “hero,” “gifted,” “smart,” a “friend” of President Obama, “passionate,” “eloquent,” and a civil rights “champion.”

Al Sharpton was solicited for his comments on Bond:

As one who came out of the immediate generation after him, I grew up admiring and studying the work of Julian Bond.… The country has lost a champion for human rights.

As was Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, who added:

Collective Corruption: Hillary’s Operatives take over

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, August 10, 2015:

For decades Hillary Clinton’s scandals have left observers wondering how she has managed to escape from being incarcerated. From the death of Vince Foster to Whitewater, from Travelgate to Filegate, from the looting of the White House to the Benghazi cover-up, she has escaped untouched, and unrepentant.

With the revelations last week stemming from demands by judges that two of her closest advisors, Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills (pictured), testify under oath that they have turned over all their private emails to the Justice Department, observers now are beginning to understand why. “Hillaryland,” first named that by its leader, Patti Solis Doyle, has been protecting her flank since at least 1992.

Hillary’s Muslim Advisor Being Investigated for Fraud and Theft

This article was published at The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, August 7, 2015:

Poor old Hillary Clinton, she just can’t catch a break. If it’s not emails, it’s contributions from foreigners seeking influence. If it’s not Benghazi, it’s her affected southern accent.

It’s called, officially, “political corruption” which is defined as “the use of powers of government for illegitimate private gain, which may include bribery, extortion, selling of favors, patronage, graft, and embezzlement.”

But at least she’s not guilty of treason, at least not yet. But her favored personal advisor – her “woman Friday” or “body woman” as some call her – Huma Abedin, isn’t so lucky.

More Baggage for Hillary: Her Advisor Ordered to Reveal E-mails

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, August 6, 2015:

Last week a federal judge ordered Hillary Clinton’s long-time friend and closest associate, Huma Abedin, to attest, under penalty of perjury, that she has turned over all of her e-mails to the Justice Department. The order also applied to another Clinton aide, Cheryl Mills, who also was using a private e-mail account to do State Department business, just like her boss. But the focus is on Abedin, who has caught flak from many quarters over the years for her and her family’s close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a Muslim revolutionary organization.

In addition to the judge’s order, Senator Chuck Grassley, (R-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has been investigating Abedin’s employment “arrangement” at the State Department, whereby Abedin also
