Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

U.S. Senate Candidate Roy Moore Pulls Gun at Campaign Rally

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, September 26, 2017:

At a rally Monday night, Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore pulled out a gun and likely sealed his victory on Tuesday against Republican-establishment candidate Luther Strange.

At the climax of his speech, Moore said, “It’s been very hard for my wife and myself to weather two, nearly three, months of negative ads that we couldn’t answer with money because we didn’t have it. Ads that were completely false. That I don’t believe in the Second Amendment.”

And then, as Moore said,

Gun Violence Stats Altered by Washington Post: 23 “Children” Shot Daily

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, September 25, 2017:

In a wildly sensationalist screed published September 15, the Washington Post burnished its anti-gun agenda without regard to truth. In its “Children Under Fire” piece, the Post seemed to rely on emotional appeals in order to make its point: Youngsters are being shot at a terrible rate and something must be done! The reader is left to imagine just what must be done, but it’s likely to have little to do with supporting the Second Amendment.

Its subtitle warned the skeptic what was coming:

Washington Post’s Credibility Takes Another Hit

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, September 25, 2017:

Two recent polls show once again that the mainstream media’s attempt to influence the news isn’t working. For years Gallup has been tracking their cratering of credibility, noting last September  that “Americans’ trust and confidence in the mass media ‘to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly’ has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with [just] 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media. This is down eight percentage points from last year.”

Gallup’s conclusions were backed up by a more recent poll conducted by Harvard-Harris in May this year which learned that

Trump’s Regulatory Rollbacks Already Being Felt

The latest report from the American Action Forum (AAF), which has been tracking President Trump’s promise to deregulate American businesses, continues to be upbeat. In April it had found that the repeal or delay of regulations imposed during the Obama administration could lead to $86 billion “in net fiscal effects” for taxpayers as a result. The latest from AAF said that the trend downward in regulations and upward in freedom from them continues apace.

In July the Washington Post counted 860 regulations that the Trump administration was either pulling or suspending, and then included commentary from anti-Trump liberals that

St. Louis Riots Instigated by Communist BLM Thugs and Stooges

For those still doubtful about the communist background and purposes of the Black Lives Matter “movement,” James Simpson, Trevor Louden, and Matthew Vadum have performed a great public service. “You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists)”

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, September 15, 2017:

The Australian physician, Dr. Fred Schwarz, filled the Los Angeles Sports Arena from August 28 through September 1, 1961 – capacity 16,000 – to hear him and other speakers expose the communist conspiracy. He educated millions, and his book You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists) sold well over a million copies. As Morrie Ryskind, a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, wrote at the time: “I can honestly say that in my 25 years in Los Angeles I have never known a local event that so completely captured the enthusiasm for the city.”

Schwarz founded and was active in his Christian Anti-Communist Crusade into his late 80s, passing away at age 96 in 2009.

Schwarz would have recognized the ploys the Chinese communists are using to extract high-technology from the United States by any means whatsoever. In their effort to overtake American technology, China is following a 10-year plan to

Comedian, Humanitarian Jerry Lewis Dead at Age 91

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, August 21, 2017:

Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin.

The mainstream media missed a glorious opportunity to honor one of the great humanitarians of the last 100 years: Jerry Lewis. Instead it focused on his manic antics, his outrageous humor, his stint with Dean Martin in the long-running Martin and Lewis Show, with precious little ink spilled over his lifelong support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

For example, in its 3,200-word obituary the New York Times called Lewis a “jester,” “silly,” and “stormy,” and that was just in its headline noting his death on Sunday. The Times said he was “a mercurial personality who could flip from naked neediness to towering rage.” When it came to his 67-year support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the paper spent just 63 words, total, in noting his work for the MDA.

Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a ghastly disease,

Dana Loesch’s NRA Ad Attacking New York Times Understates Its Dishonesty

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, August 8, 2017:

Dana Loesch, the conservative radio talk-show host and spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association (NRA), voiced the anger of many citizens that the mainstream media, specifically the New York Times, has moved from reporting the news to faking the news to promote its own agenda. In the latest video produced by the NRA that hit the wires on Thursday, she expressed that anger:

Sunday’s Phony Election in Venezuela Installs Marxist Dictatorship

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, July 31, 2017:

The first order of business of the new “constituent assembly” voted unanimously into power on Sunday in Venezuela will be to exact retribution on President (now dictator) Nicolas Maduro’s enemies. Official installation takes place on Monday in the same palace where Maduro’s opposition won control overwhelmingly in 2015.

In a speech replete with attacks on the United States and President Donald Trump, Maduro (shown) engaged in political rhetoric designed to hide the truth of just what happened on Sunday:

Trump’s Legal Advisor Sekulow Brings Eternal View Into Secular Politics

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, June 21, 2017:

Jay Sekulow lecturing

Jay Sekulow lecturing

Following a whirlwind tour of weekend mainstream media talk shows, Jay Sekulow has emerged as President Donald Trump’s latest legal advisor. Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump’s legal team, made it official on Tuesday: “Jay is a member of the president’s legal team in the fullest sense of the word. He is also authorized to speak on television or otherwise.”

Sekulow wrote of his first presentation of a case before the Supreme Court: “Me, a short Jewish guy from Brooklyn, New York, went before the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States to defend the constitutional right to stand in an airport and hand out tracts about Jesus!”

The group he was defending was Jews for Jesus, and Sekulow was serving as its chief counsel.

Jews for Jesus? Sekulow couldn’t make this up. Raised in a nominally Jewish household, he met a “Jesus Freak” while attending Mercer University (then called Atlanta Baptist College), who became a close friend. Sekulow’s skepticism that Jesus is the Jewish messiah turned to curiosity, and he determined to get to the bottom of the matter:

Why Mainstream Media Ignored the Story of the Capture of Two Escaped Convicts

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, June 19, 2017:

At a press conference in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, homeowner Patrick Hale gave all credit to Jesus Christ for the anti-climactic capture of two escaped convicts that occurred on his driveway last week. Though there were a dozen microphones lined up to hear his story, few, if any, were from the mainstream media. Said Hale:

Trump Picks Wray to Head FBI; Mainstream Media Say It’s Smokescreen for Comey Hearing

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, June 7, 2017:

The mainstream media, alerted to a Tweet President Trump sent early Wednesday morning indicating that he would nominate high-profile litigator Christopher Wray as FBI director, scrambled to find something negative to say about the choice. The best the New York Times could come up with was that he is a “hybrid pick,” whatever that means, but that the timing was suspicious: “Mr. Trump’s news may represent an attempt to inject credibility [whatever that means] into an investigation [that starts on Thursday].”

CNN likewise could find nothing negative in Wray’s background, so it, the least credible member of the MSM, focused instead on the timing,

Media Ignores Ongoing Socialist Disaster Unfolding in Venezuela

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, May 31, 2017:

Media Research Center (MRC), the conservative media watchdog whose stated mission is to “prove through sound scientific research, that liberal bias in the media does exist,” reported on Tuesday more evidence that the media is now guilty of publishing “no news,” at least when the subject is the ongoing meltdown taking place in Venezuela.

Readers of these pages are well-informed about that meltdown:

Harvard Study Confirms Media Bias Against Trump

Thomas Patterson, Harvard’s Bradlee Professor of Government and the Press, opened his study of “News Coverage of Donald Trump’s First 100 Days” by noting not only that President Trump was the topic of more than 40 percent of all news stories during his first 100 days (three times the amount of press coverage received by previous presidents), but also that the coverage he received “set … a new standard for unfavorable press coverage of a president.”

What’s surprising isn’t Patterson’s conclusion, which readers of The New American likely agree with, but the source:

More “Fake News?” Trump Behind Wednesday’s Stock Market Dump

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, May 19, 2017:

Cover of "The Intelligent Investor: The D...

It’s almost too trite to say that the mainstream media engages in “fake news,” but its nearly unanimous claim that Wednesday’s selloff in stocks was due to Trump’s troubles borders on fake news. It certainly violates a primary rule of logic: post hoc, ergo propter hoc – after this, therefore because of this.

Here is a perfect, but certainly not the only, example. From Marketwatch one learns that “The sell-off came in the wake of a bombshell report in the New York Times that notes from fired FBI Director James Comey revealed President Donald Trump had asked Comey to stop the FBI’s investigation into fired National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s ties to Russia.”

The tortured logic is this: Trump’s controversies, including those concerning Comey, are going to distract him and his administration from accomplishing many of the policy goals upon which the stock market was banking. Hence, the market will be disappointed.

Other MSM outlets lined up:

Are Concerns Over EMP Attack From North Korea Overblown?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, May 16, 2017:

North Korea and weapons of mass destruction

While the mainstream media is focusing most of its attention on North Korea’s missile tests, it is largely ignoring what some are calling the rogue nation’s real threat: using one or both of its two present satellites hovering over the United States to launch an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack instead.

One of those scoffing at the very idea of EMP attack from North Korea is Jeffrey Lewis, who blogs in favor of nonproliferation at his site “Arms Control Wonk.” On National Public Radio in April, Geoff Brumfiel asked him: “Could North Korea really do this?” Lewis laughed, responding, “This is the favorite nightmare scenario of a small group of very dedicated people.”

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, chief of staff of the Congressional Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack, warned on Monday:

New York Times’ “Elitist” View Revealed Again

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, April 19, 2017:

South Carolina State House

South Carolina State House

In its opinion offered by the paper’s editorial board, the New York Times’ insertion last week into the debate going on in South Carolina over constitutional carry just might backfire. Citizens there might not like the Times’ efforts to characterize them as hillbillies, rednecks, and in the pocket of the National Rifle Association. The Times chose to quote a state representative who opposes the bill: “All it does is it makes these good ol’ boys who like to have guns strapped to their hips not conceal them.”

It had harsh descriptors for those favoring the right of South Carolinians to carry a sidearm – openly or concealed – calling those legislators favoring it “tone-deaf” and the bill itself “dangerous” and “laissez-faire.”

The bill passed the state House a week earlier, 64-46, and is headed for the state Senate for its consideration. The governor, Henry McMaster, is ready to sign it into law if it reaches his desk.

It may be that the Times knows that it is fighting a losing battle as momentum to regain full and proper rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment continues across the land. At the moment,

Bill O’Reilly to Leave Fox News
