The question is, what is “it” that needs to be fixed?

Mainstream media (MSM) bias was never more clearly displayed than when it ignored what could have been one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history in favor of the Florida school shooting. It happened the same day — Valentine’s Day — in Amarillo, Texas, when an armed street person entered the Faith City Mission and took between 100 and 150 worshipers hostage. Joshua Len Jones, age 35, who had been attending the morning service, left the building, retrieved a handgun, reentered the building, and threatened worshipers with it
The MSM was no doubt alerted by local media as soon as the event took place. But what unfolded would not serve their anti-gun agenda

With Wall Street regaining its footing following the decline that started last Thursday, commentators in the mainstream media are still searching for the decline’s cause. Initially they claimed that it was an unexpected surge in inflation evidenced by the rise in the yield of 10-year U.S. Treasury notes approaching three percent (in early September it was closer to two percent). This was followed by the jobs report that announced that wages increased 2.9 percent year-over-year, up from just over two percent previously.
Writers at the Wall Street Journal dug deeper: The selloff was caused by — ready? — “volatility sellers, risk-party funds and algorithmic trading.” They then went into mind-numbing detail about how these strategies work and how the crash cost people using in them in excess of $200 billion.
Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, told TheStreet.com that maybe it was the Federal Reserve’s unhappiness with The Donald:

It may be a little early to tell, but at the moment the middle class is doing just fine. Life goes on; if Armageddon occurred, the media missed it. That “punch in the gut for the middle class” is about to be caused by heavier wallets, thanks to tax cuts showing up in their February paychecks.
For hundreds of thousands, that punch in the gut was immediate:

The surprising thing about the Dow’s volcanic eruption through the 25,000 level on Thursday is that it was matched by all-time highs in other key stock market indexes such as the S&P 500 Index, the NASDAQ, and the Russell 2000. Even more surprising is that this isn’t happening in an American vacuum: Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average hit a new 26-year high, rising above 23,000 for the first time since January 1992. The Hang Seng (Hong Kong) Index just touched a new 10-year high, while major stock market indexes in New Zealand, the Philippines, and Thailand also set new records on Thursday.
The reasons why aren’t surprising:

Alex Wubbels, the Utah nurse who was violently arrested after trying to protect her patient’s Fourth Amendment rights last July, received a $500,000 settlement on Tuesday from Salt Lake City and the University of Utah which owns and operates the hospital. She waived any plans to sue, saying: “We all deserve to know the truth and the truth comes when you see the actual raw footage [from the officer’s body camera] and that’s what happened in my case. No matter how truthful I was in telling my story, it was nothing compared to what people [actually] saw and the visceral reaction people experienced when watching the footage of the experience that I went through.”

What a perfect definition of the American economy! Papier-mâché is defined as a “composite material consisting of paper pieces of pulp, sometimes reinforced with textiles, bound with an adhesive such as glue, starch, or wallpaper paste.” Add in a dose of political promises that everyone knows cannot be kept – not even close – and we have the American economy.
From a distance it looks pretty good. More than pretty good: to the untrained eye the American economy is setting world records, to wit:

U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Florida)
Florida Democratic Congressman Frederica Wilson claimed that President Donald Trump’s call to the widow of an American serviceman living in her district was “horrible” and “insensitive.” She claimed President Trump told the widow that the soldier “knew what he signed up for,” as if he were somehow responsible for his own death. She later added that the president couldn’t remember the soldier’s name. Trump denied the assertions, saying there were multiple people in his office who could verify his version of events. The gist of the conversation was that Trump apparently told the widow that her husband was very brave man who knew what he faced yet did it anyway. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said in reply to Wilson, “It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me.… I thought at least that was sacred.” And then he directed his ire at that congresswoman, saying that Wilson was part of “the long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise.”
It must have been an off-news day for the anti-Trump mainstream media because it jumped on the original story, making it headline news for days afterward. Too, they were delighted to

At a rally Monday night, Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore pulled out a gun and likely sealed his victory on Tuesday against Republican-establishment candidate Luther Strange.
At the climax of his speech, Moore said, “It’s been very hard for my wife and myself to weather two, nearly three, months of negative ads that we couldn’t answer with money because we didn’t have it. Ads that were completely false. That I don’t believe in the Second Amendment.”
And then, as Moore said,

In a wildly sensationalist screed published September 15, the Washington Post burnished its anti-gun agenda without regard to truth. In its “Children Under Fire” piece, the Post seemed to rely on emotional appeals in order to make its point: Youngsters are being shot at a terrible rate and something must be done! The reader is left to imagine just what must be done, but it’s likely to have little to do with supporting the Second Amendment.
Its subtitle warned the skeptic what was coming:

Two recent polls show once again that the mainstream media’s attempt to influence the news isn’t working. For years Gallup has been tracking their cratering of credibility, noting last September that “Americans’ trust and confidence in the mass media ‘to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly’ has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with [just] 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media. This is down eight percentage points from last year.”
Gallup’s conclusions were backed up by a more recent poll conducted by Harvard-Harris in May this year which learned that

The latest report from the American Action Forum (AAF), which has been tracking President Trump’s promise to deregulate American businesses, continues to be upbeat. In April it had found that the repeal or delay of regulations imposed during the Obama administration could lead to $86 billion “in net fiscal effects” for taxpayers as a result. The latest from AAF said that the trend downward in regulations and upward in freedom from them continues apace.
In July the Washington Post counted 860 regulations that the Trump administration was either pulling or suspending, and then included commentary from anti-Trump liberals that

The Australian physician, Dr. Fred Schwarz, filled the Los Angeles Sports Arena from August 28 through September 1, 1961 – capacity 16,000 – to hear him and other speakers expose the communist conspiracy. He educated millions, and his book You Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists) sold well over a million copies. As Morrie Ryskind, a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, wrote at the time: “I can honestly say that in my 25 years in Los Angeles I have never known a local event that so completely captured the enthusiasm for the city.”
Schwarz founded and was active in his Christian Anti-Communist Crusade into his late 80s, passing away at age 96 in 2009.
Schwarz would have recognized the ploys the Chinese communists are using to extract high-technology from the United States by any means whatsoever. In their effort to overtake American technology, China is following a 10-year plan to

Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin.
The mainstream media missed a glorious opportunity to honor one of the great humanitarians of the last 100 years: Jerry Lewis. Instead it focused on his manic antics, his outrageous humor, his stint with Dean Martin in the long-running Martin and Lewis Show, with precious little ink spilled over his lifelong support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
For example, in its 3,200-word obituary the New York Times called Lewis a “jester,” “silly,” and “stormy,” and that was just in its headline noting his death on Sunday. The Times said he was “a mercurial personality who could flip from naked neediness to towering rage.” When it came to his 67-year support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the paper spent just 63 words, total, in noting his work for the MDA.
Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a ghastly disease,

The first order of business of the new “constituent assembly” voted unanimously into power on Sunday in Venezuela will be to exact retribution on President (now dictator) Nicolas Maduro’s enemies. Official installation takes place on Monday in the same palace where Maduro’s opposition won control overwhelmingly in 2015.
In a speech replete with attacks on the United States and President Donald Trump, Maduro (shown) engaged in political rhetoric designed to hide the truth of just what happened on Sunday:
