Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

U.S. Economy Continues to Surprise to the Upside

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, October 31, 2017:

One measure of how the U.S. economy continues to exceed expectations is the Economic Surprise Index published by Citigroup. It’s a tool that is used to measure how the economy compares to those expectations and, at the moment at least, it reflects the ebullience reported elsewhere. Any reading above zero indicates that the economy’s performance is exceeding projections. On Tuesday it hit 40 — its highest level since April.

That performance has repeatedly been reported in The New American and elsewhere, with these notable results:

Arizona Senator Jeff Flake Calls it Quits, Blames Trump

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Wednesday, October 25, 2017:

It took Arizona’s junior Republican Senator Jeff Flake 17 minutes in a speech to the Senate on Tuesday to say that he’d had enough: “I have decided that I will be better able to represent the people of Arizona and to better serve my country and my conscience by freeing myself from the political considerations that consume far too much bandwidth and would cause me to compromise far too many principles. To that end, I am announcing today that my service in the Senate will conclude at the end of my term in early January 2019.”

Flake said he plans to continue to snipe at the president: “We must be unafraid to stand up and speak out … I plan to spend the remaining fourteen months of my senate term doing just that.”

Initially one might have thought that Flake was attacking the far left — BLM, George Soros, the members of the radical congressional caucuses — blaming them for many of America’s current difficulties: “We must never regard as ‘normal’ the regular and casual undermining of our democratic norms and ideals. We must never meekly accept the daily sundering of our country: the personal attacks, the threats against principles, the reckless provocations.”

But no,

Dow Crosses 23,000 for the First Time in History

Performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Index ...

Performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Index during Black Monday

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, October 17, 2017:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), colloquially called “The Dow,” crossed over the 23,000 benchmark level early Tuesday morning for the first time in history. The Dow, which tracks the stocks of 30 major corporations, has gained 25 percent since the election while the NASDAQ (which tracks the stock performance of a vastly larger and more diversified range of companies across the globe) is up 27 percent. The S&P 500 Index (which tracks the stock performance of 500 American companies) is up 19 percent.

The Wall Street Journal had no trouble finding money managers who were willing to comment positively on the news. Mark Freeman, chief investment officer and portfolio manager at Westwood Holdings Group (which invests $22 billion for its customers), told the Journal:

Trump’s Pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio Sends a Message: There’s a New Sheriff in Town

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, August 28, 2017:

Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio

There’s little doubt that sheriffs in counties on or near the country’s southern border have been watching, and waiting, for a signal from the Trump administration about its views on enforcing immigration laws. Those would especially include those who consider themselves “constitutional” sheriffs.

That signal arrived late Friday with President Trump’s pardon of Maricopa County Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Before Friday, all those sheriffs had to go on was hope – hope that they wouldn’t be targeted for enforcing the law the way Arpaio was. Now they can rest easier knowing they have a friend in the White House and not an enemy. And the net effect will be stronger enforcement of the country’s immigration laws.

For Arpaio it was a long-awaited victory over the Obama administration. For the citizens of the United States it is also a victory over illegals committing crimes without consequences.

The structure of a simple guerrilla warfare organization

Hamburg police estimated on Friday that more than 100,000 protesters have descended on their city, a large number of whom have obviously been carefully trained in guerrilla warfare tactics. A cadre of at least 8,000 appear in organized groups, with more than 1,000 of them wearing black uniforms and identical hooded masks and coordinating their actions according to their training. Many of them carry preprinted signs with “Welcome to Hell” on them.

They have, as of this writing, firebombed a police station, torched

Maine’s Cut in Its Welfare Rolls a Model for Trump

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, May 31, 2017:

As predictable as the sunrise, the Obama administration was outraged over Maine’s SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) reform instituted in late 2014, and even threatened to cut off some federal funding if it went ahead with it. To his credit Governor Paul LePage signed the bill anyway.

What happened next is historic.

Trump’s Plan to Revise SNAP Draws Howls of Protests From Liberals

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, May 30, 2017:

Modest revisions to the federal government’s present SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) proposed by Trump’s budget released last week have drawn howls of protests from predictable places. The New York Times and ThinkProgress are calling the cuts “full of horror,” “backbreaking,” and sufficient to “destroy the food stamp program.”

What’s proposed is a cut of less than $20 billion a year to a program that currently costs taxpayers more than $70 billion annually. It also would involve a modest shift of financial responsibility back to the states where it properly belongs.

The cuts are predicated on the impact the imposition of “work rules” would have

Have the Environmentalists Stooped to this Level?

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Wednesday, May 3, 2017:

When the final tally of the costs of cleaning up after the so-called “environmentalists” protesting the Dakota Access pipeline was completed, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum asked for federal help. The tally? $38 million! This included not only overtime for the overworked Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier and his deputies, but private security people from outside the state brought in to help them. It didn’t include the thousands of dollars incurred by the owners of the local Comfort Inn in Cannonball after their Good Samaritan efforts – offering free rooms to those protesters caught in the cold – were rewarded by their “guests” trashing them.

But it did include the bill from an environmental cleanup and fumigation company from Florida brought in to remove thousands of tons of unspeakably vile trash the protesters left behind. This writer now refuses to grace those thugs and criminals with the appellations “environmentalists” or even “hypocrites.”

In his request to President Trump, Burgum said:

North Dakota Demands U.S. Taxpayers Pay for Pipeline Protest Cleanup

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, May 2, 2017:

When the last of the pipeline protesters were removed, some by force, from the Dakota Access campsites in late February, Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier thought that would be the end of it, and folks could get back to their regular lives:

I am very happy to say that we finally introduced [the] rule of law in the Oceti camp. I am hopeful that this announcement brings us closer to finality in what has been an incredibly challenging time for our citizens and law enforcement professionals. Having dealt with riots, violence, trespassing and property crimes, the people of Morton County are looking forward to getting back to their normal lives.

Except for the bills.

As part of its investigation into just how American taxpayer monies are being used by George Soros’ groups to infiltrate Macedonia’s conservative government, Judicial Watch on Wednesday filed suit against the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Judicial Watch, a conservative non-partisan government watchdog group, said in its suit that USAID, working with radical elements inside the DOS (left over from the Obama administration), have disbursed $5 million to

Trump Picks Neocon to Head Council of Economic Advisors

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, April 10, 2017:

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he would nominate Kevin Hassett as chairman of his Council of Economic Advisors. Immediately, Glenn Hubbard, a neocon serving as a visiting scholar at the “conservative” American Enterprise Institute (AEI), piped up to laud Hassett’s nomination and Trump’s wisdom in selecting him for the position: “He’s not just a standard-issue really good economist, [Hassett is] someone who knows how policy works. The tax changes being considered are really aimed at boosting investment, so I think Kevin is exactly the right person.”

He’s the right person if Trump wants someone whose resumé includes stints at the

Trump Stumbles Again: Appoints Interventionist to head his Council of Economic Advisors

One way to test a hypothesis is to apply it to the real world. Two renowned, highly-regarded, and elite-college trained economists did just that. In 1999 James Glassman, the founding executive director of the George W. Bush Institute (Harvard-trained with a BA in government), and Kevin Hassett, BA in Economics from Swarthmore and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, wrote Dow 36,000: The New Strategy for Profiting from the Coming Rise in the Stock Market. So sure were they about their prediction they went on the road to promote it, claiming that “stocks are now in the midst of a one-time-only rise to much higher ground – to the neighborhood of 36,000 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average.”

On December 31, 1999 the Dow stood at 11,497. A little over three years later the Dow closed (on March 6, 2003) at 7,673, a drop of 3,823 points, costing those who bought the book and took their advice one-third of their investment.

But both persisted,

Former Labor Secretary Thomas Perez New DNC Chairman

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, February 27, 2017:

Democrat “establishment” candidate Thomas Perez (standing next to Obama, below) became the new Democratic National Committee chairman in Atlanta on Saturday, by a vote of 235-200. Keith Ellison, far-left member of the House from Minnesota, came in a close second, after a second vote was necessary to determine the winner.

Hard-left groups, hoping to pull the Democrat Party even further left with an Ellison victory, were disappointed in Perez’ win. Jim Dean, chair of Democracy for America, which was founded by by his brother, former Vermont Governor and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean, in 2004, said:

Thomas Perez and Keith Ellison: Two Left-Wing Peas in a Pod

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, February 27, 2017:

It was a near thing: hard-left Muslim Keith Ellison had everything going for him: timing, momentum, and endorsements. He should have won in a walk, and he almost did.

The chairmanship for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was up for grabs in Atlanta on Saturday, and, for the first time in recent memory, it took two ballots to determine a winner. It was Perez over Ellison: 235-200.

Hard-left groups were incensed. This was the second time they had been shut out by the insiders, the first when Hillary allegedly sabotaged Bernie’s campaign for the presidency in the Democrat primary. Said Jim Dean, head of Howard Dean’s Democracy for America:

When George Soros Dies, Who Will Run His Money, and for What Purposes?

This article was published at The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Friday, January 20, 2017:

Speculation abounds. George Soros (shown) turned 86 last August, and the clock is ticking. He lost $1 billion betting against Trump in November, but still has $25 billion left. When he meets his Maker (likely for the first time), who will drive the billionaire’s Wells Fargo wagon?

Out of his five kids, two are heirs apparent:

Alexander Soros, Scion of Billionaire George Soros, Being Groomed to Take Control

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, January 19, 2017:

Alexander Soros

According to Media Research Center (MRC,) Alexander Soros (shown), one of billionaire George Soros’ five children, opened his father’s checkbook and gave more than $4.5 million to various Democratic campaign and political action committees last year. Between August and November the Soros scion wrote four checks to Senator Harry Reid’s Senate Majority PAC totaling $3.5 million. The other checks went to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee Services Corporation, and other left-wing groups and politicians.

Although it’s George’s money, Alexander is making the decisions on a major part of his father’s estimated $25 billion. And it appears to be part of a plan to move Alexander into the driver’s seat when his father, age 86, passes from the scene. Dan Gainer, the MRC vice president who tracks the numbers, told the Washington Times: “Alexander Soros is following in both his father’s and brother’s footsteps — going left.” He added:

Baltimore Police Department

On Thursday, the Baltimore City Council assented to the final step in turning the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) into a de facto branch of the Department of Justice: it agreed to be bound by a “consent decree” – 227 pages of federal regulations, mandates, and rules that now control even the minutest behaviors of every employee of the BPD, from beat cop to the top.

The strategy begins with an “incident,”

And Not a Shot Is Fired: Baltimore City Council Assents to Federal Consent Decree Over Its Police Department

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, January 12, 2017:

The consent decree just approved on Thursday by the Baltimore City Council cements into place the next step toward a virtual federal takeover of the Baltimore Police Department (BPD).

The decree itself provides all the damning evidence. First, the incident: the death of Freddie Gray in 2015, followed by riots incited by a Marxist group funded by a billionaire. Those riots were followed by charges that the BPD used illegal measures to ensure public safety.

The U.S. government illegally and unconstitutionally investigated those charges, concluding that something must be done. Under implied threats, the consent decree was born, with obligations and mandates and changes to be enforced by a federal judge.

First, the incident.

George Soros, the funding source of BLM

A measure of just how effective the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement has become in its virulent anti-police protests was released on Wednesday by Pew Research Center. In its report “Behind the Badge,” reflecting the view of nearly 8,000 active law-enforcement officials, Pew stated: “Recent high-profile fatal encounters between black citizens and police officers have made their jobs riskier, aggravated tensions between police and blacks, and left many officers reluctant to fully carry out some of their duties.”

Specifically those BLM-inspired and George Soros-funded protests have increased tensions between
