Have nothing to do with the [evil] things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light... [For] when all things are brought out into the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed...

Democrats Used Discredited Dossier Against Trump

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, July 14, 2017:

The ripple effect from the publishing in January by far-left BuzzFeed of the phony, discredited “Trump Dossier” written by anti-Trump British MI6 agent Christopher Steele is still being felt. As a result of a London lawsuit against Steele, the former British spy was forced to admit that his information, which was obtained from various unnamed Kremlin sources, was never verified as accurate. But that hasn’t deterred Democrats determined to harm or destroy the Trump presidency from using it as fodder for their attacks.

Steele, a confirmed socialist, wrote a series of memos about information he said he had gleaned from various “Kremlin insiders,” a “trusted compatriot,” “former top level Russian intelligence officers still active inside the Kremlin,” and two other unnamed sources he referred to as “sources A and B.” But Steele stumbled when, in memo #16, he claimed that members of the Russian spy service FSB were to meet with one of Trump’s people in a conspiracy to defame Hillary Clinton. Wrote Steele:

Sweden Revokes Arrest Warrant for WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Friday, May 19, 2017:

Little is likely to change for Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, who just learned on Friday that his arrest warrant issued by Swedish authorities back in 2010 has been revoked. Until the British government decides to revoke its own warrant for Assange jumping bail in November of that year, he’ll stay put inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Sweden’s top prosecutor, Marianne Ny, said she gave up trying to serve him but added that “if he were to return to Sweden before the statute of limitations on this case expires in August 2020, the preliminary investigation could be resumed.”

At issue was a rape charge levied against Assange by two women with whom he had sexual relations while in Sweden to make a speech in 2010. When Interpol issued a Red Notice for his arrest, Assange gave himself up. In December that year he posted bail in London but

After 11 hours, the jury hearing the case against former Florida Democrat Representative Corrine Brown reached a verdict on Thursday: guilty on 18 out of 22 charges filed against her in federal court. The jury convicted her of conspiracy, five counts of mail fraud, seven counts of wire fraud, one count of scheming to conceal material facts in the case, one count of obstruction of justice, and three counts of tax fraud.

As The New American reported on the case last year, Assistant U.S. Attorney General Leslie Caldwell provided some of the details:

Senator Ted Cruz Introduces Bill to Have Drug Lord El Chapo Pay for the Wall

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, May 1, 2017:

When Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced his bill — the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act — on Tuesday, he said the $14 billion seized from the Mexican drug lord would help build President Trump’s wall:

$14 billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border.

The money isn’t available just for the taking, added Cruz:

The U.S. government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering.

As part of the agreement between Mexico and U.S. authorities, El Chapo won’t face the death penalty, but his confiscated assets might be available if Cruz’s bill passes the Senate and the House, and is signed into law by the president. Confiscated assets such as these are usually directed to law enforcement efforts in the United States.

Cruz told Tucker Carlson on Fox News’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday that it’s “only fitting” that drug money be used to build the wall:

Social Security Disability Fraud Hides the Biggest Fraud of All

Mug shot of Charles Ponzi (March 3, 1882 – January 18, 1949).

The Social Security Administration’s Office of the Inspector General reported in 2015 that nearly half of the nine million people receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Insurance) benefits were being overpaid, running up $17 billion in excess disbursements over the previous 10 years.

Such overpayments were just the beginning of the story. On Monday, a former Kentucky attorney pleaded guilty to filing more than 1,700 false SSI disability claims in a scheme that netted him millions in fees that he lavishly dished out to his co-conspirators: a Social Security administrative law judge and a psychologist, among others. In his plea bargain, former attorney Eric Conn fingered Judge David Daugherty (whom he said birthed the scheme originally) and Dr. Alfred Adkins.

The fees that Conn collected ran into the millions, while Social Security dished out some $550 million in benefits to beneficiaries who willingly participated, some of them saying later that they didn’t really know what was happening but were happy to pay Conn $200 in cash under the table for his “advice” and assurance that their claims would be approved.

The setup was simple:

Social Security Disability Fraudster Just Tip of the Iceberg

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Tuesday, April 11, 2017:

A former Kentucky attorney pleaded guilty on Monday to filing more than 1,700 fake disability applications under Social Security’s Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. The complex scheme netted Eric Conn millions in kickbacks while costing SSI an estimated $550 million in phony benefits paid out to unsuspecting beneficiaries.

Conn’s plea bargain accused his co-conspirators, psychologist Alfred Adkins and Social Security Administrative Law Judge David Daugherty along with other unnamed individuals, of working with him in the scam. Conn claimed that the scheme was hatched originally by Daugherty.

Is Obama’s New Home the “Nerve Center” for Anti-Trump Resistance?

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, March 6, 2017:

Is former president Barack Obama’s new home in D.C.’s posh Kalorama neighborhood the “nerve center” for the anti-Trump resistance? Leon Wagener thinks so, and his story, originally published by the British tabloid the Daily Mail on March 1, gained national attention. Quoting “a family friend” of the Obamas, Wagener wrote that “Obama’s goal is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment,” splicing together a series of quotes elicited from this “friend”:

Who is Running OFA and the Indivisible Project, and Where?

In the beginning OFA stood for Obama for America, a fundraising effort during Obama’s first presidential run in 2008. After his inauguration it changed its name to Organizing for America and was housed inside the Democratic National Committee, which essentially controlled it. Now that Obama is out of office it has changed its name once again, to Organizing for Action, and its actual physical location and control center is unknown. It’s driving an attempt that has never been tried before: to thwart the programs of the new administration through political action, usually non-violent but occasionally violent.

OFA (the latest version) trains leftist organizers in the radical street tactics taught by leftist Saul Alinsky in his Rules for Radicals (and dedicated, by the way,

Alexander Soros, Scion of Billionaire George Soros, Being Groomed to Take Control

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Thursday, January 19, 2017:

Alexander Soros

According to Media Research Center (MRC,) Alexander Soros (shown), one of billionaire George Soros’ five children, opened his father’s checkbook and gave more than $4.5 million to various Democratic campaign and political action committees last year. Between August and November the Soros scion wrote four checks to Senator Harry Reid’s Senate Majority PAC totaling $3.5 million. The other checks went to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee Services Corporation, and other left-wing groups and politicians.

Although it’s George’s money, Alexander is making the decisions on a major part of his father’s estimated $25 billion. And it appears to be part of a plan to move Alexander into the driver’s seat when his father, age 86, passes from the scene. Dan Gainer, the MRC vice president who tracks the numbers, told the Washington Times: “Alexander Soros is following in both his father’s and brother’s footsteps — going left.” He added:

CIA Waiting for Venezuelan Protests to Turn Sufficiently Violent

For at least the last two years, Venezuela’s Marxist President, Nicolas Maduro, has claimed that part of his problems stem from interventions planned by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). And for years most commentators and observers have written off those claims as more Marxist madness voiced by a dictator completely infused with paranoia.

However, analysts at the Center for Research on Globalization (CRG), headquartered in Montreal since 2001, have been watching and reporting on those plans by both the CIA and U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). If their research is accurate, and the protests in Caracas and three other cities in Venezuela turn sufficiently violent and bloody, the CIA may

Three Charged in $1 Billion Medicare/Medicaid Fraud Scheme

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, July 25, 2016:

Seal of the United States Department of Justice

Last Friday the Justice Department charged a Miami-area healthcare operator, a hospital administrator, and a physician’s assistant with conspiracy involving submitting fraudulent bills to Medicare and Medicaid exceeding, for the first time, $1 billion.

The three included Philip Esformes, the owner of more than 30 Miami-area nursing and assisted-living facilities, hospital administrator Odette Barcha, and physician assistant Arnald Carmouze. They were charged with money laundering, conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government, and receiving kickbacks, along with other charges.

The conspiracy had been going on for 14 years, and came to a end with the help of the Medicare Fraud Strike Force (MFSF), which began investigating healthcare fraud in March 2007. Since that time, nearly 3,000 defendants,

Within days of each other, two House Democrats — one a petty thief, the other a big-time plunderer — have had to account for their unethical behaviors. The first was forced to resign from office; the other announced his intention to retire.

Chaka Fattah, whose birth name is Arthur Davenport, represented Pennsylvania’s Second District (mostly Philadelphia and its environs) from 1995 until Thursday, June 23 when he was forced to resign. It wasn’t his idea. Fattah wanted to stay in office until the day before his sentencing on October 4, milking his position for every last penny.

A year ago July, he and four of his associates were indicted on federal charges for

Does the Media Lie? Only When It Serves Its Purposes

The brouhaha over Donald Trump’s revocation of press credentials from the Washington Post has reignited the question: can the press lie in order to prove a point or promote an agenda?

The Donald doesn’t think so. On Monday morning, following the massacre in Orlando, Trump said this on Facebook:

I am no fan of President Obama, but to show you how dishonest the phony Washington Post is, they wrote, “Donald Trump Suggests President Obama Was Involved With Orlando shooting” as their headline. Sad!

Twenty minutes later he pulled the plug on WaPo journos:

Katie Couric’s Producer Broke Federal Laws With Anti-gun “Documentary”

This article appeared online at TheNewAmerican.com on Monday, June 6, 2016:

The so-called documentary Under the Gun, hosted by Yahoo’s Global News Anchor Katie Couric (shown), was so deceptive that other members of the mainstream media were forced to call her out for it:

Washington Post: “Katie Couric Documentary Falsely Depicts Gun Supporters as ‘Idiots’”

New York Times: “Katie Couric Interview Shows Editing Slant in Gun Documentary”

Fox News: “Katie Couric Slapped for ‘Deceptive’ Documentary About Gun Rights”

What they didn’t know at the time was that Couric’s producer, Stephanie Soechtig , broke at least three federal gun laws in the process.

In her quasi-apology, Couric said, “I regret that those eight seconds were misleading.” She is about to have three more regrets, as her producer’s violations of federal law come to light.

The original deception was bad enough, as The Federalist explained:

Venezuela Collapsing; U.S. Officials Fear Violence, Military Coup

U.S. intelligence officials warned on May 14 that Venezuela is descending into economic and political chaos that is likely to end in street violence, military suppression of citizens’ rights, and a possible coup to remove President Nicolás Maduro.

How much of that reflects CIA interventions to keep the crisis somewhat under control is an open question. But one of those anonymous “intelligence officials” told the Wall Street Journal that “[our] goal is to mitigate the crisis that they’re experiencing. It’s in the United States’ interest that Venezuela not bottom out.”

If past experience serves as a guide for the future, the CIA could

Even the title was designed to inflame anti-local police passions: “986 people were shot and killed by police this year” headlined the Washington Post’s 2015 Police Shootings Investigation published the day after Christmas.

The Post’s writers, in summarizing the study, did their best to take the results and use them to “prove” that killer cops are on the loose in the country, far more than anyone knew.

First: Since mental illness played a role in a quarter of the killings, the authors were quick to draw the conclusion that the local police are

Massive Washington Post Study Backfires

This article was published by The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor on Monday, January 11, 2016:

Given the Washington Post’s politically liberal stance, their study published the day after Christmas seemed perfect: local police had been murdering innocents in greater numbers than ever, and here was the proof.

They assigned two writers to dissect and summarize the study, 2015 Police Shootings Investigation, subtitled “986 people were shot and killed by police this year.” Breathlessly, Kimberly Kindy and Kennedy Elliott reported six important “takeaways” from the 12-month investigation:

It was 57 years ago at the Indianapolis home of Miss Marguerite Dice when businessman Robert Welch began his marathon two-day lecture that launched The John Birch Society. There were 11 friends and business associates present and they listened intently as the philosopher-historian and great lover of America told them during 17 hours why they should join with him in an organization designed to preserve the American dream. Most agreed on the spot to be the Society’s first members and the organization was born on December 9, 1958.
